Public medical universities have the most expensive tuition fees, at 209 million VND per year.

Hai Duong Medical Technical University plans to charge 27.6 million VND/year for the next academic year for the Medical program, and 20.9 million VND/year for other programs. The university offers five programs: Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, and Rehabilitation Technology.

Similarly, Da Nang University of Medical Technology expects to charge between 20.9 and 27.6 million VND for new students in the 2023-2024 academic year. The university offers seven majors: Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, and Public Health .

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (Ho Chi Minh City) plans to charge tuition fees ranging from 31.6 to 209 million VND per year. Specifically, for mass training programs, tuition fees will range from 31.6 to 52.2 million VND per year. Of this, a tuition fee of 55.2 million VND will apply to the Medical, Pharmacy, and Dentistry programs (an increase of approximately 12-13 million VND compared to the previous academic year).

For the Vietnam-Germany Medical Program, a joint program with an international partner, the tuition fee is 209 million VND per year (an increase of 19 million VND compared to last year).

Vinh Medical University plans to charge 23 million VND/year for the Medical and Pharmacy programs. The Preventive Medicine program will cost 20 million VND/year, while the lowest tuition fee is 17.5 million VND for the Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology programs.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) has announced a significant increase in tuition fees for the 2023-2024 academic year, from 14.3 million VND to 55 million VND per year. Next academic year, the Medical program (regular program) will have the highest tuition fee at 55 million VND per year (an increase of 40.7 million VND compared to 2022).

Next, the tuition fee for Pharmacy is 51 million VND/year (an increase of 36.7 million VND compared to last year). The remaining majors charge 27.6 million VND, an increase of 13.3 million VND.

Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy expects to charge an average tuition fee of 37.6 million VND per year for new students in the 2023-2024 academic year (an increase of 13 million VND compared to last year). The university has not yet announced detailed tuition fees for each major.

Last year, the university projected tuition fees of 44.1 million VND per year for Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. Traditional Medicine and Preventive Medicine were projected at 39.2 million VND. Other programs ranged from 29.4 to 34.3 million VND. These figures represent an increase from the 24.6 million VND tuition fee in 2021.

Hanoi University of Pharmacy has announced new tuition fees for its regular programs: 24.5 million VND/academic year for Pharmacy (an increase of over 10 million VND compared to last year), 18.5 million VND for Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and a minimum of 13.5 million VND for Biotechnology. The high-quality program will cost 49.5 million VND/academic year.

The Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has also increased tuition fees for the upcoming academic year. Specifically, the Public Health major saw the biggest increase, reaching 45 million VND per academic year (an increase of 8 million VND compared to last year).

The following majors will charge tuition fees of 41.8 million VND/academic year (an increase of 4.8 million VND) for Nursing, Anesthesia and Resuscitation Nursing, Midwifery, Dental Prosthetics Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, and Nutrition.

The fields with the lowest increase are Preventive Medicine and Traditional Medicine, with tuition fees of 45 million VND/academic year (an increase of 3.2 million VND).

The three majors that maintain their tuition fees are Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy, charging 77, 74.8, and 55 million VND per year, respectively.

The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (Da Nang University) is expected to increase tuition fees from 20.9 to 27.6 million VND per year. Last year, the school's tuition fees ranged from 18.5 to 24.5 million VND per year, depending on the major. The admissions plan also clearly states that tuition fees for the remaining years will increase according to the schedule stipulated by the State.

Da Nang University of Medical Technology also plans to raise tuition fees from VND 18.5-24.5 million/year to VND 20.9-27.6 million/year in the 2023-2024 academic year.

The Faculty of Medicine (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) is expected to charge 55 million VND for tuition fees in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and traditional medicine, an increase of 6 million VND compared to the previous academic year. The nursing program will see a smaller increase, from 37 to 40 million VND per year. This fee is lower than the regulated ceiling by several hundred thousand to 1.8 million VND per year.

The School of Public Health, University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hue University) only announced that tuition fees would increase according to the schedule and regulations in Government Decree 81, without providing specific information about the amount and schedule of the tuition fee increase.

At a meeting with the Ministry of Education and Training on May 10th, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha agreed with the plan for universities to increase tuition fees starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, in accordance with Decree 81.

Accordingly, the tuition fee ceiling for public universities that are not self-sufficient in covering their operating expenses is 14.1 - 27.6 million VND/academic year, depending on the field of study - the highest is Medicine and Pharmacy with 27.6 million VND/year for the regular program.

Universities that cover their operating expenses can collect a maximum of twice the above amount, while those that are self-sufficient in covering both operating and investment expenses can collect up to 2.5 times that amount.

For training programs that meet quality accreditation standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training or international standards, universities are allowed to determine tuition fees themselves, but they must be transparent to students and the public.
