The 4th Congress of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Ninh Binh Province

On the morning of December 26th, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Ninh Binh province held its 4th Congress of Delegates for the 2023-2028 term.

Attending the Congress were Comrade Nguyen Hoang Ha, Provincial Party Committee member and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; representatives of leaders from provincial departments, agencies, and organizations; leaders of districts and cities; and representatives of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin from the provinces of Thai Binh, Ha Nam, and Nam Dinh.

During the 2018-2023 term, with the attention and guidance of the Central Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the districts and cities, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels in the province has strived to overcome many difficulties, closely followed the Congress Resolution, implemented various aspects of work, and basically completed the tasks and targets set.

Accordingly, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels has actively focused on building a stronger organization. At the same time, it has done a good job advising local Party committees and authorities, coordinating closely with relevant departments, agencies, and organizations to carry out propaganda, mobilization, and the reception and allocation of social resources to effectively fulfill the task of caring for and assisting Agent Orange/Dioxin victims. During the term, over 116,000 Agent Orange/Dioxin victims received gifts during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year); support for building charitable houses; loans for production investment; free medical examinations, treatment, and medicine... with a total value of nearly 34 billion VND.

With the theme "Unity, compassion, responsibility, focusing on victims - Actively, innovatively, building a strong Association, successfully fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Party and State," for the 2023-2028 term, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin has set specific targets: Annually, 100% of Association organizations will complete their tasks, with 60% or more completing them well, and no weak organizations; each District and City Association will develop 5-10% of its members; 100% of Association officials will receive training and professional development. Continue to mobilize and receive social resources, aiming for a total of 6 billion VND or more annually throughout the province. Strive to eliminate dilapidated housing for Agent Orange/Dioxin victims by 2025; annually, at least 16 households will receive interest-free production capital assistance. 100% of Agent Orange victims receive gifts during the Lunar New Year and on the "For Vietnamese Agent Orange Victims" Day on August 10th every year…

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Ninh Binh Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin for the fourth term, 2023-2028, consisting of 16 members. Comrade Nguyen Duc Du was elected by the Congress as Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin for the term 2023-2028.
