Job creation efforts

In 2024, Mr. Dinh Van Uc (Kruoi Chai village, Yang Bac commune) participated in a job fair organized by Yang Bac commune in coordination with the Provincial Employment Service Center. Afterward, he decided to enroll in an automotive technology course at Gia Lai College.

He shared: “I noticed that the automotive technology market is booming, offers decent income, and is considered to have great potential for the future. Therefore, I chose to study this field. I have one year left until graduation. I plan to apply for jobs at auto repair shops in the province to improve my skills and earn extra income.”

In 2021, Mr. Dinh Han (Bung Bang Hven village, Yang Bac commune) received career guidance from the local authorities and was given the opportunity to participate in a construction vocational training course organized by the district in coordination with Gia Lai College.

“During the course, the teachers were very enthusiastic and detailed. Thanks to them, I mastered the construction techniques and easily applied them to my work. After finishing the course, I joined the village's construction team to work on projects both within and outside the district. As a result, I have a stable job with an income of 6-8 million VND per month,” said Mr. Han.

According to Mr. Dinh Hoan, head of Bung Bang Hven village: In recent years, many young people in the village have participated in career guidance sessions and proactively registered for vocational training courses. After completing the courses, most of them have found jobs and stable incomes.

Seeing us visit her home, Ms. La Thi Hue (Mong village, Ya Hoi commune) excitedly showed off her flock of over 100 chickens. She said: "Previously, I raised about 20 chickens, but because I didn't know how to take care of them, the flock often got sick."

In July 2024, she boldly registered for a chicken farming and disease prevention course organized jointly by the commune's People's Committee. After three months of study, she had mastered the knowledge of coop hygiene, care, and disease prevention and treatment for chickens.

“Thanks to proper care, the chickens are thriving and getting sick less often than before. I plan to sell the broiler chickens by the Lunar New Year of 2025 to generate additional income for my family,” Ms. Hue shared.

Strengthening career guidance efforts

Mr. Dinh Hvu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Yang Bac commune, said: "In 2024, the commune coordinated with the District Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Gia Lai College to open two vocational training classes in agriculture and non-agriculture with 54 participants. Most of the trainees, after completing the training, have been able to apply their skills in practice, creating stable jobs and increasing their family income."

Meanwhile, Trinh Thi Thanh Hoa, Deputy Head of the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Department of the district, informed: "In 2024, the communes and towns coordinated with the Provincial Employment Service Center to organize 10 job fairs, attracting 1,583 participants."

Here, workers receive career counseling and guidance, are provided with labor market information, and are supported in finding employment. Through this, workers in the district, especially ethnic minorities, have the opportunity to access recruitment information from businesses and choose suitable jobs.”

In 2024, Dak Po district, in coordination with Gia Lai College, organized 12 vocational training courses in agriculture and non-agriculture with 351 participants. As a result, the rate of trained workers in the district reached 60.83%. Also in 2024, 1,875 people in the district found new jobs or created their own jobs , exceeding the planned target by 25 people.

Based on the achievements so far, by 2025, the district aims to increase the number of newly employed and self-employed workers to 1,900 and raise the percentage of trained workers to 62.74%.

To achieve the set goals, the district will continue to coordinate with the Provincial Employment Service Center to organize local job fairs to help workers find suitable jobs. In addition, the district will also continue to cooperate with training institutions to organize vocational training courses to meet the needs of the local workforce.
