Pao's Sa Pa Hotel has proactively prepared water storage tanks and has contingency plans in place to store water during the upcoming April 30th - May 1st holiday.
According to statistics, in the central urban area of Sa Pa, the average water demand is approximately 6,000 m3/day, reaching up to 8,000 m3 during peak periods. To prepare for the peak holiday season, all restaurants, hotels, and accommodation establishments in the area have proactively stockpiled water. For example, at Pao's Sa Pa Hotel, on peak days, the hotel uses about 130 m3 of water per day. The hotel has proactively prepared water tanks and has contingency plans for water storage. Mr. Nguyen Manh Dat, a technical staff member at Pao's Sa Pa Hotel, shared: "The 500 m3 water tank is sufficient, and we regularly replenish the water supply after each day's use to avoid any potential problems."
Since November 2022, the BOO clean water plant, with a phase 1 capacity of 7,500 m3/day, has been operational, contributing to overcoming water shortages during the dry season in Sa Pa. The Sa Pa Water Supply Branch, operating at full capacity, can supply approximately 3,000 m3/day. Entering this year's dry season, both units have proactively implemented plans to meet customer water needs. Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong from the Sa Pa BOO Clean Water Plant shared: "Our workers are on duty 24/7, ensuring sufficient water supply for the Sa Pa Water Supply Branch, providing enough water for residents and tourists. The water quality meets the standards of the Ministry of Health ."
The BOO Sa Pa Clean Water Plant is now operational, helping to alleviate water shortages during the dry season in Sa Pa.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Sa Pa Water Supply Branch, shared: "The branch has organized a review and handled the water supply network to customers in the best way possible to ensure water supply."
This year's April 30th - May 1st holiday lasts 5 days. The number of visitors to Sa Pa is projected to reach approximately 200,000. To meet the water needs of residents and tourists, the town authorities have promptly directed the two water supply units in the area to develop water supply plans; proactively inspect and immediately address any problems that may arise, ensuring a stable water supply network.
Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, said: "After inspecting the two water treatment plants, the volume, reserves, and output of clean water are sufficient to supply the area during the April 30th - May 1st holiday this year. In addition, favorable weather conditions ensure a reliable water supply."
Local authorities and specialized agencies in the town are also stepping up efforts to raise awareness and encourage restaurants, hotels, accommodation establishments, and residents to use water economically and rationally, preventing the Sa Pa national tourist area from experiencing water shortages during peak season.
