Tran Ngoc San is a versatile actor and voice-over director/dubbing director for films. He is also a well-known radio host. "Doing what you love and loving what you do" is his happiness and guiding principle.
Conveying genuine emotions.
In October 2006, Ngoc San first stepped into the recording studio to dub a character. Over time, he has persistently spread this passion, helping audiences better understand the content they are watching by conveying emotions through his voice.
Tran Ngoc San has dubbed many popular television series and feature films.
It's impossible to list all the voice-over projects for films, game shows, commercials, and media products that Ngoc San has lent his voice to. Besides that, San actively participates in specialized workshops, talent competitions, and short-term voice-over courses. He wants to use all his skills and experience to inspire many young people with the same passion and talent. Supporting and encouraging others to develop their careers is also one of his aspirations.
Knowing how to balance work and life has helped San build a solid foundation for her family, nurturing love and strengthening bonds with loved ones.
San's motivation to pursue a career in voice acting stems from his love and pride for the Vietnamese language, acting, and voice. He is particularly inspired by veteran artists such as Thanh Loc, Huu Chau, Thanh Thuy, and Kim Xuan. He also once dreamed of becoming a stage actor, performing in front of the public, and embodying vivid and captivating roles. "Although I couldn't fulfill that dream, luckily, I found my calling in voice acting, a job that also requires acting ability, only it's performed in a recording studio instead of on stage," San recounts.
San knows how to say no to unnecessary things in order to dedicate time to more important relationships and tasks.
However, the career path was not easy. The first difficulty when embarking on the voice acting career was that his voice was still quite thin, light, and high-pitched, not to mention pronunciation errors. Thanks to respected teachers like Ms. Dam Loan, Mr. Xuan Tam, Mr. Khanh Hoang, and Mr. Dat Phi, San has made steady progress. He not only had his pronunciation corrected, his body language improved, his emotions freed up, and his techniques honed, but he was also taught about professional ethics.
Balancing career and family
Voice acting is a creative job, a special form of acting where the voice is the only tool to create a character and express emotions.
When doing voiceovers, San tries to find the "beauty" in the voice, to create genuine and vivid emotions, drawing the audience into the story.
By choosing the path of a freelancer, San can take control of her life and career, freely selecting projects, creating a flexible work environment, and balancing work and personal life. "I'm fortunate to be able to maintain my passion without sacrificing other important values, especially my family. Freedom in my work brings a sense of independence and creativity; each day is a new opportunity to improve myself," San emphasized.
A notable achievement for Ngoc San recently was becoming a voice coach for Vietnamese-language products at Apple Inc., a leading global technology corporation. He was one of only two Vietnamese selected for this position. This work not only instilled a sense of personal pride but also contributed to enhancing the user experience in Vietnam – a crucial market for Apple in its global technology development strategy. The film "The Smurfs," directed and voiced by Tran Ngoc San, is also set to be released this summer. This is a highly anticipated live-action musical-fantasy film from the US and Belgium.
Besides his voice-related work, San is also a GroupX instructor at a large gym chain. Effective time management and prioritizing what's necessary helps San maintain his physical and mental well-being. "Balancing career and family is not just a goal, but also a life value that a young person like me strives for to grow steadily," he says.
