The Party Committee and the Steering Committee for the People's Mobilization Movement in Vinh Tuy commune have determined that to build consensus, it is essential to first understand the people, be close to them, and listen to them. Therefore, people mobilization work does not stop at meetings or plans, but begins with visits to the grassroots, conversations with the people to identify problems that need to be solved.
Instead of a scattered approach, the locality focuses on guiding the development of models that address difficult issues and obstacles at the grassroots level, contributing to the development of household economies, promoting digital transformation, and ensuring social security in the area. Currently, the entire commune has 38 steering committees for the "Good Deeds and Achievements" emulation movement, with 93 "Good Deeds and Achievements" models registered at the commune level and 64 models registered at the provincial level in the fields of economy, culture, society, and political system building.
According to Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Steering Committee of Vinh Tuy commune, the effectiveness of mass mobilization work must be measured by concrete results and the satisfaction of the people. “Those involved in mass mobilization work must be closely involved with the grassroots, working with the people to resolve even the smallest difficulties. When the mass mobilization model stems from real needs and brings tangible benefits to the people, the people will voluntarily participate and wholeheartedly implement it,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien.
A highlight of the DVK movement in Vinh Tuy commune is its ability to foster a spirit of self-reliance and mutual support among the people. The "Skillfully Mobilizing Funds for Self-Reliance and Household Economic Development" model of the Tien Phong hamlet Veterans Association has successfully ignited this spirit. Through voluntary contributions from members, the self-reliance fund has accumulated over 530 million VND, helping more than 90 members invest in production, livestock farming, and crop cultivation, gradually escaping poverty sustainably. The success of this model has led to the replication of 20 similar models in other hamlets in the area, creating a foundation for many veteran members to improve their lives and achieve stability.
Beyond supporting economic development, the DVK movement also brings heartwarming acts of kindness, addressing social welfare issues through the people's own efforts. Many residents are familiar with the image of Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, a member of the Red Cross Society in the commune, diligently carrying out charitable patient transport trips. Rural road repair teams in Tien Phong and Vinh Minh hamlets regularly repair damaged sections of roads to facilitate easier travel for residents. Women members in Muoi Hung, Vinh Tan, Vinh Tien, and Vinh Hung hamlets contribute to a revolving fund to purchase health insurance cards. Through these actions, community bonds are strengthened, and the spirit of mutual support spreads widely, resulting in a reduction of the commune's poverty rate to 1.23%.
Recalling the time he heard about the merger of the three communes, Mr. Ngo Van Minh, residing in Vinh Hung hamlet, was initially apprehensive. Mr. Minh said: “I worried that with a larger area, the government would be further away from the people, making it harder to understand their concerns. But the reality is different; many practical models have been implemented, people's lives have improved, and our homeland is changing every day. We are very excited and always support the local government's policies.”
Beyond traditional models, Vinh Tuy also brings digital transformation closer to the people through easy-to-understand and accessible methods. Models such as "Skillfully mobilizing members and their families to disseminate basic digital knowledge" or "Some solutions to improve the rate of digitization of documents to meet the satisfaction of citizens and businesses" are helping people gradually become familiar with the digital environment. This skillful integration ensures that people are not left behind in the flow of technology, building a local administration that is increasingly transparent, efficient, and closer to the people.
| Following the merger of three communes – Vinh Tuy, Vinh Phuoc A, and Vinh Thang – the new Vinh Tuy commune covers an area of over 115 km², with 22 hamlets, 184 self-governing residential groups, and more than 37,000 inhabitants. |
