The Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee has taken note of the advice given by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

(Baoquangngai.vn) - Along with the rest of the country, the Party Committee, government, military, and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ngai province are deeply saddened to hear the news that Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong – the highest leader of our Party – has passed away. His passing has left immeasurable grief for countless cadres, Party members, armed forces, and people of his homeland, the land of Mount An and the Tra River.

A few days ago, upon hearing the news that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was ill, the Party Committee, government, military, and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ngai province turned their thoughts to Hanoi, the thousand-year-old capital, praying for the General Secretary's recovery so that he could shoulder the noble responsibilities entrusted to him by the Party and the people. However, no miracle occurred for the General Secretary.

Despite the dedicated care and attention from the Party, the State, a team of leading professors, doctors, and medical experts, and the devoted support of his family, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong passed away at 1:38 PM on July 19, 2024, at Military Central Hospital 108, leaving behind immeasurable sorrow for the entire Party, army, and nation of Vietnam.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was born and raised in Lai Da village, Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district (Hanoi). Regardless of his position, he maintained the demeanor of a humble leader, living a life dedicated to the nation and its people. He was a leader with exemplary qualities of diligence, frugality, integrity, impartiality, and selflessness; he made many great and important contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, especially in the process of renovation, national construction, and defense.

When entrusted with the highest responsibilities in the Party, he did not disappoint the people, excellently fulfilling the duties of a Party leader. He was very decisive and creative in the work of Party building and rectification; in preventing and combating corruption and negative phenomena, and was supported and endorsed by cadres, Party members and the people.

Although we know that birth, aging, sickness, and death spare no one in this world, the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has left immeasurable sorrow for countless cadres, Party members, armed forces, and people of his homeland, the An Mountain - Tra River region.

During his visits and working trips to Quang Ngai in various capacities as Chairman of the National Assembly and General Secretary of the Party, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong always highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Committee and people of the province. He emphasized that Quang Ngai is a land of outstanding people and rich history, with a long-standing tradition of patriotism and unwavering revolutionary spirit... and is the birthplace of Prime Minister Pham Van Dong and former President Tran Duc Luong. Therefore, Quang Ngai needs to take advantage of these opportunities and strengths to develop.

“Economic development is the central task, but we also need to focus on doing a good job in Party building and rectification, and implementing some urgent tasks that need to be done immediately... For the Party to be truly clean and strong, each grassroots Party organization must be clean and strong, each cadre and Party member must be truly exemplary, leading the way in fulfilling assigned political tasks, constantly learning, training, maintaining moral qualities and lifestyles, upholding the spirit of self-criticism and criticism, and uniting, loving and helping each other in the spirit of comradeship and brotherhood...”.

Bearing in mind the advice of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, over the past several terms, the Provincial Party Committee has always promoted the spirit of unity and solidarity, working together to carry out the political tasks of the Party Committee, constantly striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and successfully achieving the goals and targets set forth in the Party Congress Resolution.

Together with the entire Party and army, the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee has always resolutely and persistently maintained political stability, and together with the whole country, firmly protected national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security, and social order and safety.

At the same time, we must promote socio-economic development, take good care of the spiritual and material lives of the people, especially ethnic minorities and people in mountainous areas. We must focus on effectively preparing for the Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 21st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, and the 14th National Party Congress.

The Party Committee, government, military, and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ngai province have absolute confidence in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, and are determined to join the whole country in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; building a clean, strong, and comprehensive Party Committee; making Quang Ngai province increasingly prosperous and beautiful; and continuously improving the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially ethnic minorities and those living in coastal and island areas.

Although General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has passed away, his contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the State, and our people will live on forever; and serve as a guiding principle for all actions of cadres and Party members throughout the provincial Party committee. The Party committee, government, military, and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ngai province are deeply saddened and grateful for his contributions to the Party, the country, and the Vietnamese nation, including Quang Ngai province.
