At the conference, local representatives presented an overview of Nam Ban Lam Ha commune - a newly formed administrative unit created by merging Nam Ban town and the communes of Dong Thanh, Me Linh, and Gia Lam.
With a natural area of over 117 km2 and a population of over 32,700 people, Nam Ban Lam Ha is considered to have many advantages in terms of geographical location, natural conditions, and regional connectivity.
Notably, the location is situated in the northwestern gateway area of Da Lat's administrative center, bordering important transportation routes such as Provincial Road 725, National Highway 20, National Highway 27, and near Lien Khuong International Airport.
The locality possesses a natural ecosystem with plateau terrain, a mild climate, fertile basalt soil, and scenic highlights such as Elephant Waterfall and Cam Ly Stream, creating a favorable foundation for the development of high-tech agriculture combined with ecotourism.
Based on an analysis of its potential and development opportunities, the delegates unanimously agreed that Nam Ban Lam Ha has great potential to develop into a modern, mixed-use urban model, linked to three main pillars: urban development, tourism, and science, technology, and innovation.

To expand its transportation infrastructure, Nam Ban commune in Lam Ha district is currently proposing to supplement the provincial planning, seeking approval to open a strategic transportation route connecting the Elephant Waterfall area along Provincial Road 725 to National Highway 20, National Highway 27, and the Lien Khuong - Prenn Expressway.
Once completed, this road will shorten the distance connecting Nam Ban Lam Ha with Lien Khuong Airport to less than 10 km; at the same time, it will strengthen regional connectivity and reduce traffic pressure on the central area of Da Lat.
At the conference, representatives from Novaland Group proposed the idea of developing a smart urban area in Nam Ban, Lam Ha, combined with a multi-functional resort area in the neighboring Hiep Thanh area, with an estimated scale of 5,000 - 7,000 hectares.
Specifically, the plan aims to create functional zones such as: a digital technology-focused urban area, an innovation center, a high-end resort area, a sports and entertainment complex, and a healthcare and wellness center.

Planning and architecture experts also contributed many ideas to ensure sustainable development. Expert opinions at the conference focused on identifying advantages and shaping long-term development directions for Nam Ban commune, Lam Ha district, with a strategic, interdisciplinary approach.
Dr. Pham S assessed that the locality has a favorable natural foundation and geographical location, with a relatively flat, semi-mountainous terrain and a mild climate year-round. Based on this, he proposed four pillars of development until 2035, with a vision to 2050, including: smart ecological cities; high-tech agriculture; green tourism; and enhanced regional linkages.
Notably, in the field of tourism, he emphasized a different approach: developing agro-tourism, health and wellness tourism, linked to the protection and sustainable exploitation of forest resources.
From the perspective of international investors, Mr. Park Woung, Director of Investment Promotion at Novaland Group, believes that Nam Ban Lam Ha has the potential to become a destination for the "silver economy" thanks to its ideal climate and proximity to Lien Khuong Airport.
Accordingly, the trend of elderly people from South Korea, Japan, and Europe seeking retirement homes is increasing, opening up opportunities for the development of high-end tourism and resort models catering to the group of customers over 55 years old.
He emphasized that early infrastructure investment would create a long-term competitive advantage; and expressed his hope that the locality could become a model for service development for this population group.

Speaking at the conference, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Ban Lam Ha, Nguyen Van Chau, emphasized that after the administrative unit merger, the development of a general plan for the commune until 2050 is a key and strategic task. The general plan plays a "lever" role in attracting investment and creating momentum for local growth.
Based on that, Nam Ban commune in Lam Ha district proactively invited experts in the fields of planning and architecture, as well as businesses and investors, to participate and contribute their opinions.

The experts' proposals were assessed as highly practical and aligned with the development orientation for the coming period.
Nam Ban Commune, Lam Ha District, will fully consider all feedback and cooperate with the consulting unit to finalize the plan in a way that is realistic and ensures feasibility.
Based on that, the locality will proactively propose to the province to gradually concretize these into programs and projects to attract investment, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of the locality, making it an attractive destination in the region.
