Previously, fisherman Tin fell and hit his face on the hard floor of the ship and showed symptoms of quadriplegia, sensory disturbances, and difficulty breathing. The patient was taken to the Da Tay A Island infirmary in a conscious and responsive state, with blood pressure of 120/80 mmHg, heart rate of 93 beats/minute, SpO2 of 97%, temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius, quadriplegia, sensory disturbances throughout the body, and urinary retention.
Through online consultation with Military Hospital 175 , doctors diagnosed: spinal injury, cervical spinal cord injury, cervical spinal cord contusion at C4-C5 level, cervical spinal edema due to domestic accident/spinal degeneration, hepatitis B, requiring active treatment to avoid serious complications.


Immediately after that, the patient was transferred to Truong Sa Island infirmary for further treatment. Here, the island's medical team quickly received and implemented an intensive treatment regimen including: intravenous fluids, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, antibiotics, respiratory and circulatory control, and close monitoring of neurological, respiratory, and quadriplegic developments.
