These 49 neighborhoods belong to the wards of Quang Vinh, Thong Nhat, Hiep Hoa, An Binh, Trung Dung, and Buu Long (formerly Bien Hoa city), now part of the "super ward" of Tran Bien. These neighborhoods were given new names according to Resolution No. 14 issued on July 17, 2025, by the People's Council of Tran Bien ward, regarding the renaming of neighborhoods, with an appendix containing data on the percentage of households voting in favor of the new names.
Accordingly, the cultural heritage is clearly recalled through the naming of the new neighborhood. Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc, 69 years old, whose house is located along Ho Van Dai Street (Tran Bien Ward), is very happy that her neighborhood, formerly known as Ward 3 (Quang Vinh Ward), is now named Cay Cham Neighborhood (Tran Bien Ward). She and her husband are local residents. Her husband's family has lived here since before Ho Van Dai Street was built. Ms. Ngoc said: "The neighborhood has the Cay Cham Market, so when people mention Cay Cham Neighborhood, many will know where this neighborhood is located."
Neighborhood 8 (formerly Quang Vinh Ward), now Tran Bien Ward, is named Thanh Thai Neighborhood because before 1975 there was a Thanh Thai Street, which is now Huynh Van Luy Street. Similarly, Neighborhood 9 in Tran Bien Ward was renamed Tan Lan Neighborhood because it houses the Tan Lan Temple dedicated to Tran Thuong Xuyen, the pioneer and developer of Cu Lao Pho/Bien Hoa. Neighborhood 13 in Tran Bien Ward was renamed Cong Ly Neighborhood, taking the name of the old Cong Ly Street, now Vo Thi Sau Street, the section from Ha Huy Giap Street to Cach Mang Thang Tam Street.
Looking through the 49 neighborhood names in Tran Bien ward, three neighborhoods retain their original names: Nhat Hoa, Nhi Hoa, and Tam Hoa. Many neighborhoods take their names from cultural, historical, and geographical significance, as mentioned above, including names related to contemporary historical events such as Nha Xanh and Lam Son (referring to the Lam Son Company established during the resistance against the French). For example, the Nam Ha neighborhood is not only related to the Nam Ha Theater (now the Tin Nghia Plaza building) but also commemorates the fraternal relationship between Bien Hoa and Ha Nam provinces during the resistance against the US, dating back to April 2, 1959. Some neighborhoods revert to the names of former wards and communes, dating back to the time when Trinh Hoai Duc compiled the Gia Dinh Thanh Thong Chi, such as all four neighborhoods in the former Buu Long ward: Binh Thanh, Tan Lai, Tan Thanh, and Tan Buu. There are also new neighborhood names such as Trung Kien, Doan Ket, and Dong Tam.
