"Locomotive" in new rural construction

In previous years, the lives of Khuon Dien villagers were still facing many difficulties, the poverty rate was high, and the transportation system was inconvenient. From 2022, Kim Quan commune strives to achieve the status of an advanced new rural commune, with infrastructure conditions, material and spiritual life of the people gradually changing.

Mr. Dung shared: “To effectively implement the National Target Program on building advanced new rural areas, we determined that propaganda and mobilization work must be one step ahead, depending on each stage to have appropriate propaganda methods. In meetings, I and the Party Committee find the causes and difficulties to proactively find solutions early.”

Previously, some village roads had been hardened but degraded and narrow, causing difficulties in traveling and economic development for the people. With a high determination, he and the Party Committee and village leaders implemented the motto "People do, State supports", mobilizing people to donate land to expand the road. Everything was discussed thoroughly by the collective, openly, transparently and democratically. As a result, in addition to the support of the State, the people contributed over 470 million VND to build rural roads with a length of nearly 1 km. Up to now, 100% of inter-village and intra-field roads have been hardened.

He also mobilized the villagers to plant 2,000 trees at the village gate and around the cultural house; every week, cadres and villagers cleaned the village roads, alleys, and decorated the campus and houses; the rate of households collecting waste reached 100%.

Khuon Dien village's appearance is increasingly prosperous, the economy is developing, people's lives are improving, the village has only 1 poor household, the average income per capita reaches over 51 million VND/person/year. With consensus, the village was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for its achievements in contributing to the new rural construction movement in 2024.

With his enthusiasm, Mr. Dung has lit the fire to make the movement of building new advanced rural areas in the locality spread more and more.
