This is the second time in 2024 that the Vietnamese women's futsal team has been invited to participate in an international friendly tournament for women's futsal. Previously, in July 2024, the Vietnamese women's futsal team participated in a friendly tournament in China. At this tournament, the Vietnamese women's futsal team defeated the host China 4-1, drew Iran 2-2 and drew Uzbekistan 5-5, reaching second place overall. Notably, player Thanh Ngan of the Vietnamese women's futsal team won the title of "best player of the tournament".
Returning to the upcoming NSDF Women's Futsal Championship 2024 in Thailand, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will face opponents including Indonesia, China, Taiwan and host Thailand. To prepare for this tournament, coach Pham Dinh Hoang and his team have gathered for training since September 9 at the District 8 Futsal Club Gymnasium, Ho Chi Minh City. The advantage of this training session is that the players have just finished competing in the 2024 National Women's Futsal Championship, so they are still maintaining good physical strength and form. In addition, the team's strength is also more competitive with the presence of a number of new players after impressive performances in the domestic tournament.
Vietnam women's futsal team leaves for Thailand
According to the schedule, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will play their opening match at the NSDF Women's Futsal Championship 2024 against Taiwan on September 24. Next, coach Pham Dinh Hoang and his team will face Indonesia on September 25, China on September 26, and end the tournament with a match against host Thailand on September 28.
