Investment in expanding the eastern section of the North-South Expressway, specifically the La Son - Hoa Lien segment.

DNO - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed a decision approving the investment plan for the expansion project of the North-South Expressway (Eastern section) from La Son to Hoa Lien.

The North-South Expressway Eastern Expansion Project, specifically the La Son - Hoa Lien section, has a total length of approximately 65km. The starting point (La Son) is at Km0, connecting to the end point of the Cam Lo - La Son Expressway, located in La Son town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province. The end point (Hoa Lien commune) is at approximately Km66, the Hoa Lien interchange connecting to the starting point of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway, located in Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city.

This is a public investment project, Group A. The preliminary total investment for the project is approximately 3,011 billion VND, funded by the State budget. The project implementation period is from 2023, with basic completion expected in 2025.

The Ministry of Transport is the managing agency of the project; it is fully responsible to the Prime Minister for proposing the approval of the investment policy for the project and for the information and data in the project's pre-feasibility study report; and for organizing the preparation and approval of the project's feasibility study report in accordance with the law.

The People's Committees of Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang provinces and cities are responsible for organizing the construction and implementation of land clearance and resettlement; and changing land use purposes (if any arise) in accordance with the documents approved by competent authorities regarding the scale, area, location, and progress of the project, and related land use plans and schemes.
