In 2025, Ham Yen district planned to plant 2,335 hectares of forest. As of May 10, 2025, the district had planted over 1,347 hectares, reaching nearly 59% of the plan. The district continues to direct communes, towns, and seedling suppliers to support households and individuals in the district with over 500 hectares of forest, in accordance with Resolution No. 03 of the Provincial People's Council.
Thanh Long commune currently has nearly 4,000 hectares of production forest, of which 2,500 hectares have been certified as FSC sustainable forest, and nearly 400 hectares are developed into large timber forests. On average, the commune harvests 200 hectares annually, generating approximately 22 billion VND in revenue. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Thanh Long commune, affirmed: The lives of the people have changed thanks to the development of planted timber forests, coupled with the provincial government's support mechanisms and policies for seedlings according to Resolution 03 of the Provincial People's Council. People in the commune have become more interested in planting and caring for forests. For many years, the commune has completed its forest planting plan ahead of schedule.
Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and forestry officials of Yen Son district handed over high-quality saplings as support under Resolution 03 of the Provincial People's Council to the people of Tu Quan commune.
By May 10th, Thanh Long commune had basically completed its plan to plant 175 hectares of production forest in 2025, including 100 hectares of high-quality hybrid acacia trees. Mr. Duong Van Quan, from Trung Thanh 3 village, said: His family had just finished planting 3 hectares of production forest using seedlings provided under the Provincial People's Council Resolution. The good quality seedlings helped his family reduce costs and speed up the reforestation process.
In Yen Son district, to ensure the planting of 3,000 hectares of production forest by 2025 as planned and within the best planting season, the district's forest rangers are actively providing high-quality forestry seedlings to local people in accordance with Resolution No. 03 of the Provincial People's Council.
In Tu Quan commune, residents have received nearly 23,300 high-quality seedlings, equivalent to 17.5 hectares. These areas have been prepared by the people with necessary conditions such as clearing the undergrowth and digging holes, so that planting can begin as soon as conditions are favorable. Ms. Dang Thi Bich Diep's family in Nhung Dam village received 3,990 high-quality acacia seedlings to plant 3 hectares of forest in 2025. Ms. Diep said: "After the recent rains, the soil has sufficient moisture, making it favorable for forest planting. My family is focusing on completing the digging of holes and striving to finish planting 3 hectares of forest by May 2025."
Comrade Vuong Tuan Huy, Deputy Head of the Yen Son District Forest Management Unit, said: To ensure the progress of forest planting according to plan, the District Forest Management Unit, in coordination with specialized agencies and communes and towns in the area, has urged and guided people to carry out land clearing, prepare seedlings and fertilizers to implement forest planting within the best time frame. At the same time, they are applying scientific and technical methods from land preparation, determining planting density, fertilizing, and forest care to improve the efficiency of forest planting; closely managing and monitoring the origin and quality of seedlings supplied to households; preparing conditions to ensure production forest planting and effectively implementing sustainable forest management. By April 10th, the entire district had planted nearly 1,600 hectares of production forest, reaching 51% of the plan, and supported over 350 hectares of high-quality seedlings according to Resolution 03 of the Provincial People's Council.

To ensure that forest planting meets the plan, the Forest Protection Department requests that localities, forest farms, centers, and seed production enterprises proactively sow and closely manage the quality of seedlings to supply to households; prepare the necessary conditions to ensure production forest planting and effectively implement sustainable forest management.
In addition, the Forest Protection Department, in coordination with specialized agencies, closely monitors the origin of seedlings when they are used for sowing, increasing the proportion of seedlings produced using tissue culture technology, which have high yields. Simultaneously, scientific and technical methods are applied from land preparation, determining planting density, fertilization, and forest care to improve the efficiency of planted forests. Local forest rangers are directed to inspect and guide households on proper planting and care techniques, and to purchase seedlings from reputable, licensed establishments.
