Following the success of the previous two seasons, on the morning of March 14th, Vietnam Family Magazine, in collaboration with Hanoi University, held the launching ceremony for the 3rd annual writing competition on the theme 'Father and Daughter' in 2025.
The 3rd "Father and Daughter" writing contest has been launched to help spread warm and sacred family feelings.
Now in its third year, the competition continues to be a forum for fathers and daughters to express their feelings and emotions; to rekindle the sacred father-daughter bond, thereby inspiring positive values, promoting good deeds, and sharing heartwarming stories in life.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, journalist Ho Minh Chien – Editor-in-Chief of Family and Vietnam Magazine and Head of the competition organizing committee – said: " The father-daughter relationship is extremely sacred, a value that never goes out of style. Stories from the depths of the hearts of fathers and daughters will always touch the emotions of each of us in today's life, which is filled with worries, anxieties, and even turmoil. Through this competition, we hope to continue spreading the core values of love, compassion, and moral values from each individual and family, especially among young people, including students ."

The 3rd "Father and Daughter" writing contest has officially launched and is accepting entries from March 14, 2025 to June 12, 2025. Over the two previous contests, thousands of entries have been submitted, each containing a touching story imbued with humanistic values. Each entry reflects the feeling of a warm flame kindling within each family, warming lives and destinies, healing wounds, forgiving mistakes, and spreading happy smiles.
This year, the competition features many innovations in both content and format. The organizers encourage participants to submit accompanying photos and videos to create richness, appeal, and improve the quality of their entries. The competition also encourages participation from high school and university students. The organizers will have a special award category for authors with outstanding entries.
In 2025, the whole country will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. Therefore, the competition will award prizes to authors with outstanding entries about their fathers who were revolutionary activists.
Participants include Vietnamese people living abroad; foreigners living and working in Vietnam who submit outstanding entries will also be awarded prizes at this year's competition.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association - shared his thoughts at the launching ceremony.
Commenting on the "Father and Daughter" writing contest, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association - shared that the relationship between a father and daughter, and between a daughter and her father, is always very special but not easy to express for Vietnamese people. The contest is very meaningful in preserving, cherishing, and nurturing family feelings, the extremely sacred bond between father and daughter.
"The idea of organizing this year's 'Father and Daughter' writing contest with new features will create opportunities for participants to develop their creative abilities. The launch ceremony today, held at Hanoi University, is also a meaningful decision that contributes to spreading the value of family affection to young people. This is essential in today's digital age, in a 'digital society,' so that they always remember the value of family," Mr. Le Quoc Minh expressed.
Award Structure:
+ 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 3 third prizes for the best works, with prizes including cash and gifts.
+ One first prize, one second prize, and one third prize will be awarded to female authors or authors who write about revolutionary leaders.
+ One first prize, one second prize, and one third prize will be awarded to students, with prizes including cash and gifts.
+ Awards for Vietnamese people living abroad and foreigners living, studying, and working in Vietnam.
+ 5 consolation prizes with cash and physical gifts.
In addition to cash prizes, winning authors also receive certificates from the Organizing Committee.
