The announcement ceremony for the 4th "Father and Daughter" writing contest in 2026, with the theme "Two Generations - One Love," organized by Vietnam Family Magazine, will take place on April 22, 2026, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).
Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Ho Minh Chien, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Family Magazine and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, said that the large number of entries over the years shows the strong spread of this theme. "Many authors don't focus on winning a prize but rather want to share their feelings and emotions for their fathers," he shared.
According to the organizers, the competition is not only a literary playground but also an emotional bridge between generations. Through each story, the warm family atmosphere, with the father's tolerance and protection, and the daughter's love and filial piety, is vividly recreated. Many works have touched the sacred depths of the Vietnamese soul, evoking a full range of emotions from joy and sorrow to forgiveness and healing.

Despite having been held three times already, the Organizing Committee believes that the theme of family, especially the father-daughter relationship, remains a rich source of inspiration. With the theme "Two Generations – One Love," this year's competition continues to open up a creative space for authors to express fresh perspectives on the father-daughter relationship in modern society. The Organizing Committee hopes the competition will encourage everyone to boldly express their feelings, to say what they haven't had a chance to say, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting Vietnamese family values.
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, also affirmed that the writing contest "Father and Daughter" not only creates a literary playground, but more profoundly, it creates a space for each person to reflect, contemplate, and express the voice of their heart.
The competition carries multiple layers of meaning. First and foremost, it honors the beautiful values of Vietnamese families in the context of a modern society undergoing many changes. The competition contributes to nurturing the capacity for appreciation, humanistic thinking, and expressive abilities of writers, especially young people. Sincere and emotionally rich writings are not only personal products but also messages that spread throughout the community, contributing to the cultivation of a compassionate and sustainable spiritual life for society.
This year's judging panel brings together many prestigious names in the fields of literature, journalism, and education , ensuring the professionalism and artistic quality of the competition. Furthermore, in the context of modern society, where generational gaps sometimes become barriers to communication, the competition is expected to become a bridge helping family members understand and connect better.
This is also a meaningful activity leading up to Vietnamese Family Day on June 28th, contributing to spreading the humanistic values and fine traditions of Vietnamese families. Building on the success of previous seasons, the 2026 competition is expected to continue to receive widespread support, creating many emotionally rich works.
