Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Ho Minh Chien, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Family Magazine, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that 3 years ago, when launching the writing contest with the theme "Father and Daughter", the Organizing Committee believed that this was a special topic, rich in emotions and would have a wide influence. But surprisingly, the contest has entered its 3rd year and is still highly anticipated by many readers, with more and more authors participating. There are people who have participated in all three seasons without ever winning a prize; there are authors who have both submitted articles and written letters of thanks to the Organizing Committee for persistently maintaining this playground. That shows that family affection, especially the bond between father and daughter, is always sacred and endless in the heart of every Vietnamese person - a "spiritual data source" that never runs out.

“Towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the third contest rules have added content for the daughters of revolutionaries and those who have contributed to the country. This is a new point, causing strong emotions for many authors and readers. We want the stories from the love between father and daughter written by families with revolutionary traditions to become a valuable source of material to inspire today's generation. From father-daughter love, family love to love for the homeland, to some extent, the expanded theme of the contest has touched the hearts of the general public,” said journalist Ho Minh Chien.

According to the Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Family Magazine, this year, the contest received nearly 1,000 entries from all over the country and also from Vietnamese writers abroad. Like the previous two seasons, the contest continues to gather authors from many social classes, such as farmers, workers, teachers, businessmen, artists, researchers, writers, etc.

“There are innocent children writing innocent lines to their fathers, and there are also elderly people who no longer have fathers but still feel small in front of their parents. All of this creates a colorful picture, making readers believe that stories about father-child love will continue to be told forever, and each story contains a special emotion,” journalist Ho Minh Chien expressed.

Assessing the quality, poet Hong Thanh Quang, Head of the jury, commented: “This year’s contest recorded many profound and touching articles that moved readers to tears. The entries were diverse in genre, from memoirs, short stories, notes, essays to poetry.”

There are works written about a hard-working father who devoted his whole life to making a living so that his daughter could study properly. There are stories about a father who spoke few words but showed his love through every small action, such as a hastily tucked raincoat, nights waiting for his daughter to come home late, or a hot meal when his daughter returned from working far away...

The writing contest “Father and Daughter” is not only to find a winner but more importantly to spread family values, in which the father-daughter relationship is especially honored.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 17 prizes, including 1 First prize; 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes, 7 Encouragement prizes and 4 Special prizes.

The work “Father’s Voice” by author Nguyen Thuy Anh (Reading with Children Club, Hanoi) won the first prize. The two second prizes went to the work “Let the Wind Take You Away” by author Dang Diem Quynh (Vietnam Television) and the work “My Father” by author Phan Thanh Phong (Nhan Dan Newspaper).
