According to the latest report published by Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo, Phu Quoc (Vietnam) ranked 4th in the Top 10 global trending travel destinations in 2026, with a 53% increase in flight and accommodation searches over the past year, according to US international news channel CNBC.
The report, compiled from more than 24,000 searches by international travelers on the Expedia platform, shows that more natural, peaceful and sustainable destinations are gradually gaining the attention of travel enthusiasts.
Topping the list is Big Sky (Montana, USA), followed by Okinawa (Japan) and Sardinia (Italy). Phu Quoc is the only Southeast Asian representative in the Top 5.
According to travel expert Melanie Fish of Expedia Group, Phu Quoc is increasingly attracting international tourists thanks to its pristine natural beauty, rich marine ecosystem, and the strong development of high-end resorts and environmentally friendly services.
In recent years, Phu Quoc Island has continuously upgraded its infrastructure, expanded international flights and focused on developing sustainable tourism. This has helped Phu Quoc become an attractive destination for both vacationers and nature lovers .

With recognition from international travel sites, Phu Quoc is affirming its position as a leading destination in the region and the world, promising to continue to explode in 2026.
Previously, the "Top Islands: Readers' Choice Awards 2025" by American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler also honored Phu Quoc as the most beautiful island in the world in Asia, affirming its position on the international tourism map.
With 95.51 points voted by readers, Phu Quoc of Vietnam has excellently surpassed famous beaches of Malaysia (Langkawi - 92.99), Thailand (Koh Samui - 92.7), Philippines (Boracay - 90.54), India (Andaman Islands - 85.33)... to rise to the number 1 position in the ranking of the most beautiful islands in Asia.
This result shows the great potential and outstanding development of Phu Quoc, affirming itself as the leading attractive island in the region, meeting the needs and trends of modern tourism, gradually becoming a favorite destination of international tourists. This is a clear proof of the increasingly strong attraction of Vietnam on the world tourism map.
Phu Quoc, often dubbed the “Pearl Island” of Vietnam, is a top tourist destination famous at home and abroad for its pristine white sand beaches, clear blue waters and rich marine ecosystem.
