Speaking at a press conference on October 28 in Hanoi , People's Artist Pham Anh Phuong, President of the Vietnam Dance Artists Association, said that this event commemorates the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, and also responds to General Secretary To Lam's article on "The Power of Unity".

According to People's Artist Pham Anh Phuong, the popular dance "Hand in Hand" not only embodies the beauty of dance art but also conveys a message of unity and solidarity for a prosperous and happy Vietnam. The Vietnam Dance Artists Association is promoting the popular dance "Hand in Hand" to affirm the nation's traditions and build and strengthen the great national unity in the new era.
The community dance "Hand in Hand" was first introduced to the public by the Vietnam Dance Artists Association at Vietnam Dance Week 2023. The project aims to create a popular dance that is easy to learn and perform, embodying a joyful and unifying spirit, so that all citizens can join in during various activities, especially on important national holidays.

The creation of "Hand in Hand" is also expected to contribute to promoting the folk dance movement in the country, bringing dance art closer to community life, and arousing public interest and attachment to this art form.
The "Hand in Hand" dance quickly spread to many provinces and cities through the activities of local branches of the Vietnam Dance Artists Association. Many video clips of the dance were sent to the Vietnam Dance Week Organizing Committee by artists and dance enthusiasts, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere and widespread dissemination on online platforms. Since then, "Hand in Hand" has been performed in numerous cultural and artistic programs in localities across the country.

Choreographer Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Dance Artists Association, shared that the "Hand in Hand" dance was created from simple, familiar movements to attract a large number of participants, while simultaneously conveying the artistic beauty and cultural essence of various regions. Basically, the foot movements of the dance mimic the rhythm of people's footsteps, and the hand movements imitate the lotus flower symbol. Therefore, the dance is easily popularized within the community.
With the desire to spread the "Hand in Hand" dance more widely, and to promote and introduce the natural beauty and diverse regions of the country, the Vietnam Dance Artists Association is organizing Vietnam Dance Week 2025, with the main activity being a competition for creating artistic video clips based on the original "Hand in Hand" dance on social media and digital platforms.

The organizers encourage artists to create more diverse performance versions, showcasing a spirit of innovation and a desire to spread the art of dance widely in the community, linked to promoting local landmarks, scenic spots, and historical sites.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Dance Artists Association branches nationwide are implementing, promoting, and calling on members to participate in the Reels Challenge video challenge with the message "Hand in Hand" - spreading the strength of unity of Vietnamese dance art as it rises with the nation. Participating videos must meet the following criteria: unique visuals; content that conveys a high artistic effect; showcasing performing talent and the beauty of dance art; promoting scenic spots, tangible and intangible heritage of the place where the creator lives and works; clearly demonstrating the spirit of national unity; and encouraging the participation of diverse age groups and ethnicities in multi-ethnic regions…
The organizers will accept video entries from November 16th to December 16th, 2025, via email at [email protected]. Outstanding videos will be selected for judging, and awards are expected to be presented at the end of 2025.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Dance Artists Association also launched a promotional video clip of the dance "Hand in Hand," showcasing the scenic landscapes and culture of various localities, from the northern mountainous regions to the central and southern parts of Vietnam. The video combines the "Hand in Hand" dance with folk dances, ballet, neo-classical, and contemporary styles, featuring talented dancers who have won numerous major awards, including artists trained at the Vietnam Dance Academy, who are currently young dancers, choreographers, and instructors actively creating and contributing to major art programs.
Choreographer Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh expressed her hope that, through the works and videos submitted to the "Hand in Hand" program, the Vietnam Dance Artists Association and the dancers will be able to find a common dance that all Vietnamese people can join together in community activities.
