To let Uncle Ho's words deeply permeate our lives.

(GLO) - From literacy classes in disadvantaged areas, sharing models in border regions to innovative approaches to economic development at the grassroots level, the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in Gia Lai are being concretized through many practical actions.

These simple yet humane acts not only care for people's lives but also spread a spirit of responsibility and community awareness.

Bringing knowledge and compassion to disadvantaged areas.

Having taught for many years at the Kuăi village school (Ia Le commune), teacher Hồ Thị Thùy Trang (Phan Chu Trinh Primary School) understands the disadvantages and feelings of inferiority many people face due to illiteracy. With the desire to help the villagers access knowledge and gradually change their lives, in 2022 she opened a literacy class right in the village.

After consulting with the school's administration, she coordinated with local authorities to go door-to-door encouraging people to participate in the class. At one point, the class had nearly 50 students. Despite the class being 3 km from her home and three evenings a week, Ms. Trang still regularly attended class after her regular teaching hours.

Not only did she dedicate her time and effort, but she also used her own salary to buy books, pens, and other necessary supplies so that people could confidently attend classes. This dedication gradually spread to her friends, relatives, former students, and philanthropists, helping the class to have more resources to support the students.

After a period of persistent effort, many students have become proficient in reading and writing, and more confident. Although the literacy class will end in mid-March 2025, teacher Trang's journey of sharing continues.

"For the past seven years, I have maintained connections with philanthropists to distribute hundreds of gifts to students and people in need, with a total value of over 100 million VND," Ms. Trang shared.

For her quiet but responsible work, in 2024, teacher Ho Thi Thuy Trang was awarded a certificate of commendation by the Central Propaganda Department for her outstanding achievements in implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW.

The spirit of learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example has also been concretized by the Border Guard force of the province through many humane models, focusing on the people in border areas.

For over 10 years, the "Charity Kitchen" model at the Le Thanh International Border Gate Border Guard Station (Ia Dom commune) has become a lifeline for many poor students in the area.

Thanks to contributions from officers and soldiers, along with the support of businesses, philanthropists, and charitable organizations, the kitchen regularly serves free lunch to approximately 14-16 students each day. In addition to ensuring nutritious meals, the officers and soldiers also regularly care for and guide the students' studies, encouraging them to strive for excellence.

Similarly, the Ia Nan Border Guard Station has implemented many practical models such as "Border Guard Green Vegetables" and "Charity Rice Jar" at Kpă Klơng Primary School (Ia Nan commune). Accordingly, each month, the unit provides 20 kg of rice and 10-15 kg of green vegetables, supplied regularly twice a week, to the school's boarding students.

Colonel Rơ Mah Tuân - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command - affirmed that the learning and following of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings has been concretized by the units through the motto "stay close to the people, be near the people, help the people".

In addition to supporting disadvantaged people and students, the Border Guard force actively propagates and guides people in switching to different crops and livestock, applying science and technology to production, in order to increase income and stabilize their lives.

Inspiring a spirit of self-reliance and striving for success.

At the grassroots level, learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example is also creating many positive changes in economic development and building a new way of life. In Chu A Thai commune, the local Party committee and government have linked the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW with emulation movements for economic development, building new rural areas, and maintaining security and order in residential areas.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Tan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Chu A Thai commune, said: "In recent years, many households have changed their production mindset, boldly switching crops and livestock, and applying science and technology to increase income. As a result, many effective economic models have been formed, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction and improving people's lives."

For example, Mr. Doan Van Thuy's family (Doan Ket village) boldly converted over 4 hectares of fruit tree land to mulberry cultivation for silkworm farming. Thanks to the application of a closed-loop production process, his family achieves a revenue of over 800 million VND per year.

Meanwhile, Mr. Phan Quoc Truong (Nam Ha village) converted his low-yield cassava plantation to growing gooseberries. With 200 trees that were properly invested in and cared for, the model brings in nearly 300 million VND per year after deducting expenses.

From literacy classes in disadvantaged areas and sharing models in border regions to effective methods of economic development at the grassroots level, learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example is being concretized through many practical actions, contributing to spreading positive values and building an increasingly prosperous homeland.
