Could you share your feelings about attending the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, as well as your expectations for the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new development phase?
Mr. Dinh Cong Thuc: The 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is taking place in the context of the country entering a new stage of development with many opportunities and advantages, but also posing many requirements and challenges for the work of gathering and promoting the strength of the great national unity.
Therefore, the greatest expectation for this Congress is to further affirm the central role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in uniting the people; and at the same time, to effectively concretize the Party's new policies and viewpoints on renewing the content and methods of operation of the Front and political and social organizations.
I hope that the Congress will set forth groundbreaking, practical goals, tasks, and solutions that meet the requirements of the new era; thereby further improving the quality of social supervision and criticism, participating in building a clean and strong Party and government, so that the Front truly stays close to the people, understands the people, and serves the people.
For Phu Tho province, the greatest expectation is that the Fatherland Front at all levels will continue to play a pivotal role in consolidating national unity; promoting patriotic emulation movements, campaigns, and practical and effective social welfare activities. This will create social consensus, awaken the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and aspiration for development, contributing to building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Phu Tho province, and helping the country enter a new stage of development.
According to him, how will the strength of national unity be promoted in the new development phase when political and social organizations are under the direct control of the Vietnam Fatherland Front?
Mr. Dinh Cong Thuc: The establishment of political and social organizations and mass associations under the Vietnam Fatherland Front is a strategically significant step to continue reforming and streamlining the organizational structure for greater efficiency, while strengthening cohesion and unity in action towards the common goals of the country.
I believe that, under one roof, the strength of national unity will be more effectively promoted through synchronized and close coordination among organizations in propaganda, mobilization, and gathering of all strata of the people. This will create favorable conditions for the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels to better fulfill its central role in unity, listen to opinions from the grassroots, promptly grasp the legitimate aspirations of the people, thereby consolidating trust and strengthening social consensus.
In particular, the bridging role between the Party, the State, and the People will be increasingly affirmed. Member organizations will not only leverage their own strengths but also create a combined force in social supervision and criticism, participating in Party and government building, and improving policies and laws. This will contribute to fostering patriotism, self-reliance, and the desire to contribute among the people, creating an important impetus for the country's rapid and sustainable development in the new era.
Building the Front to be closer to the people, more connected to the people.
What are your expectations regarding the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in connecting and coordinating efforts to mobilize collective strength in caring for the people's lives?
Mr. Dinh Cong Thuc: When political and social organizations and mass associations work together under the "common roof" of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, it will create a close link, synchronized coordination, and unified action under the leadership of the Party. This will create a "synergy of strength," helping to implement mass mobilization, care for the people's lives, and consolidate national unity more effectively and extensively.
This strength is not merely a pure synergy between organizations, but also the diffusion, support, and multiplication of the value of each movement and community activity. With a widespread network and a large number of members, the member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will become "extended arms," bringing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies closer to the people; at the same time, promptly grasping the thoughts and aspirations of the people to reflect, propose, and provide more practical care for social life.
The practical experience in supporting the people to overcome natural disasters and epidemics in the past has clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of this coordination. The joint efforts of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, along with political and social organizations and mass associations, have mobilized many resources and implemented many practical activities to promptly support people in overcoming difficulties and stabilizing their lives. This further affirms and profoundly spreads the fine tradition of "mutual support" and "loving others as oneself" of the Vietnamese people.
I believe that, with the strength of unity and a shared sense of responsibility, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to effectively play its role in gathering and connecting all strata of the people, creating a solid foundation of social consensus, and contributing to building a more sustainably developed country in the new era.
Based on local experience, in what areas does the Fatherland Front need to innovate more strongly to be closer to the people?
Mr. Dinh Cong Thuc: Based on local experience, in my opinion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front needs to continue to innovate more strongly in terms of content and methods of operation, focusing on practicality, closeness to the grassroots, and putting the people at the center of all activities. In particular, it is necessary to pay special attention to improving the quality of understanding the thoughts and aspirations of the people; effectively promoting the role of social supervision and criticism, and representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
From the very beginning of the 2025-2030 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Phu Tho province has clearly defined its key tasks to build a Front that is increasingly closer to and more responsive to the people. The focus is on promoting innovation in propaganda work, strengthening dialogue and listening to the opinions of the people; implementing many practical models directed towards the grassroots, caring for the lives of the people, and consolidating the great national unity.
The Fatherland Front at all levels in the province also focused on implementing many specific and practical targets such as: effectively implementing the "Month of Listening to the People" model; maintaining social welfare and community assistance models; organizing the National Unity Day in 100% of residential areas; promoting effective self-governance models at the grassroots level; strengthening social supervision and criticism on issues of public concern; improving the quality of grassroots mediation work; and providing timely support to poor and disadvantaged households affected by natural disasters and serious incidents.
I believe that concrete, practical activities strongly oriented towards the grassroots will help the Vietnam Fatherland Front truly become a reliable bridge between the Party, the State, and the people; thereby consolidating trust, strengthening social consensus, and contributing to the successful achievement of the province's development goals in the new period.
