The memorial temple for the heroic soldiers of Road 20-Quyet Thang (in Tan Trach commune, Bo Trach) began construction in September 2004 and was completed in November 2005. The temple was established to commemorate the contributions of generations of soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who built, fought, and protected the vital route for transporting goods and weapons to support the southern battlefield during the resistance war against the US...

 

Next to the Memorial Temple for the Heroic Soldiers of Road 20-Quyet Thang is the historical relic of the Eight Youth Volunteers Cave, associated with the heroic historical story of the heroic sacrifice of eight Youth Volunteers (all from Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province) belonging to Youth Volunteer Squad 163, C217, Construction Board 67, Group 559 and 5 artillery soldiers while on duty on November 14, 1972.

We, the young generation, vow to make efforts and study hard to build and develop our country to become more and more prosperous…”, Le Anh Thu (Dong Hoi City) shared when offering incense at the Eight Youth Volunteers Cave.

 

Recently, the project of repairing and embellishing the Memorial Temple of the Heroes of the 20th Street - Quyet Thang with socialized funds sponsored by the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade has been completed, ensuring that the temple is always preserved, dignified and worthy of the heroes' merits; at the same time, it is a spiritual tourist destination attracting many tourists from all over the world...

In addition to the above historical sites, in PN-KB National Park, there are many other typical and especially important historical sites, such as: Nurse Cave, Xuan Son ferry, Nguyen Van Troi ferry, Phong Nha Cave, Ba Thang slope, etc.; each site is associated with events, achievements, battles, brave and creative labor of cadres, soldiers, Truong Son troops and other military branches, youth volunteers in the cause of fighting against the US to save the country. These are also "red addresses", contributing to educating the spirit and tradition of patriotism for future generations.

The Head of the Management Board of the Memorial Temple for the Heroes of Road 20-Quyet Thang shared that in recent times, the work of welcoming and serving ministries, departments, branches, organizations from the central to local levels and visitors coming to pay their respects and offer incense at the Memorial Temple for the Heroes of Road 20-Quyet Thang, the Eight Youth Volunteers Cave... has always been carried out solemnly by the Management Board of the Temple, following the correct rituals and regulations; especially on holidays, the first day of the lunar month, the full moon day... when the number of visitors coming to pay their respects and offer incense is large.

 

“Every day, the temple management board organizes and assigns staff to be on duty to ensure the solemnity of the relic as well as to take care of and burn incense; at the same time, creating the most favorable conditions for people and tourists to come and pay their respects and offer incense here…”, said the Head of the Management Board of the Memorial Temple for Heroes of Road 20-Quyet Thang.

Deputy Director of the PN-KB National Park Management Board, Truong Thanh Khai, said that the historical relics located in the heart of the World Natural Heritage PN-KB National Park will forever be heroic feats, and places that will forever go down in the history of the nation. Therefore, the management and preservation of historical, cultural and spiritual relics and the promotion of their values, meeting the needs of tourists, are always focused on by the Park Management Board.

“The historical and cultural relics in PN-KB National Park have become spiritual tourist destinations of spiritual value not only for the people of Quang Binh province but also for the people of the whole country; at the same time, they are also places to remember, show gratitude, and educate the spirit and tradition of patriotism for future generations…,” Deputy Director of PN-KB National Park Management Board Truong Thanh Khai shared more.
