Specifically, the People's Committee of Dong Hoa town is responsible for preparing the outline, budget, and developing a project to preserve and promote the value of the Vung Ro national historical relic in a sustainable and comprehensive manner, serving the socio -economic development of the locality.

At the same time, the Vung Ro Historical Relic Area should be developed into a sacred place to commemorate the historical events of Vung Ro, a holy place for people from all walks of life inside and outside the province to come and remember the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation; to organize ceremonies and memorial services for Party and State leaders on important national holidays; and to organize activities and educational programs to instill pride in the history of nation-building and national defense of previous generations.

The Vung Ro historical site is also being developed into a cultural and historical tourism destination, showcasing the majestic natural scenery of Vung Ro to people nationwide and international tourists, highlighting the beauty of nature along with a legend from the history of the Vietnamese people's resistance against foreign invaders.

The specific objective for the period 2024-2030 is to upgrade and restore the Vung Ro National Historical Site, as outlined in the Outline prepared by the Dong Hoa Town People's Committee and appraised by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

According to information from the People's Committee of Phu Yen province, the locality currently has 112 classified relics. These include 2 special national relics, 21 national relics, and 89 provincial relics. These relics fall under the categories of history, architecture and art, archaeology, and scenic landscapes.

In order to preserve and promote the value of historical relics in the province in a sustainable and comprehensive manner, serving the socio-economic development of the locality, in December 2023, the People's Committee of Phu Yen province approved the overall plan for the preservation and promotion of the value of historical relics in Phu Yen province for the period 2023 - 2030.

Along with the proposed solutions, Phu Yen needs more than 11,679 billion VND to implement the Project. Of this, more than 771 billion VND will come from the State budget and approximately 10,908 billion VND from socialized funding.

Specifically, Phu Yen will mobilize social resources to invest in and restore historical sites. This will focus on sites with tourism development potential, especially those classified as scenic landscapes.

Accordingly, by 2030, Phu Yen prioritizes mobilizing social investment to restore and promote the value of 9 historical relics and scenic landscapes, with an estimated investment of over 10,900 billion VND.

The Vung Ro wharf, known as the "No Number" wharf, is a historical landmark in the resistance war against the US, saving the nation. Here, the organization received over 200 tons of weapons from the North to support the battlefields in the South.

From November 1964 to February 1965, Vung Ro port received four unmarked ships transporting over 200 tons of weapons and goods from the North to support the battlefield in the South.

Of the four unmarked ships that docked at Vung Ro, the fourth (ship 143), which arrived on the night of February 15, 1965, was discovered by the enemy. To ensure the secrecy and safety of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea, our forces proactively used explosives to sink the ship in the Bai Chua area, preventing it from falling into enemy hands.

On June 18, 1997, the Vung Ro Unnumbered Wharf was recognized as a National Historical Monument.
