
On November 27th, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Vung Ro port receiving its first shipment from the "No Number" ship (November 28, 1964 - November 28, 2024), and in anticipation of the 65th anniversary of the sister-province relationship between Hai Duong and Phu Yen (January 9, 1960 - January 9, 2025), a delegation from Hai Duong province, led by Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, visited and worked in Phu Yen province. The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of several departments and agencies of Hai Duong province.
Receiving the delegation from Hai Duong and Phu Yen provinces were: Mr. Pham Dai Duong, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Pham Dai Duong, Secretary of the Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from Hai Duong province to visit and work in Phu Yen province on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Vung Ro port receiving the first shipment from the unmarked ship.

Affirming the close relationship between the two provinces over nearly 65 years of fraternal ties, the Secretary of the Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee, Pham Dai Duong, expressed his deep gratitude to the Party Committee and people of Hai Duong province for their continuous attention and support to Phu Yen province during difficult times, as well as for their companionship in the province's socio-economic development.
Speaking at the meeting, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang congratulated Phu Yen province on its achievements in recent years. He emphasized that Hai Duong and Phu Yen are two sister provinces, bound together by a strong bond since the fierce years of the war against the US. Nearly 65 years have passed, but this good traditional relationship has been maintained and developed, becoming an invaluable asset for the Party committees, governments, and people of both provinces on their path of construction and development. Mr. Tran Duc Thang expressed his hope that the two provinces will elevate their relationship, sharing responsibilities in Party building, socio-economic development, and improving the lives of their people.

On this occasion, the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee donated 840 million VND to Phu Yen province for the construction of 13 houses for disadvantaged families of policy beneficiaries and meritorious individuals; 90 gift packages (worth 100 million VND) to meritorious individuals, relatives of martyrs who died at Vung Ro wharf, and officers and soldiers involved in transporting weapons and ammunition at Vung Ro wharf; and donated 2 computers and 2 printers to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Phu Yen province.
* During the trip, the Hai Duong provincial delegation also laid wreaths and offered incense at the Phu Yen Provincial Martyrs' Memorial, the Nui Nhan Memorial, the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery, and the Luong Van Chanh Memorial.

The delegation visited and presented gifts to two families of war veterans from Hai Duong province who fought and died on the battlefield in Phu Yen, and two wounded soldiers from Hai Duong province currently living in Tuy Hoa City.

On the same day, the Hai Duong Provincial delegation visited and presented gifts to the Hai Phu Library. The Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee expressed his impression and emotion that the Hai Phu Library still preserves many issues of the Hai Hung newspaper.

On this occasion, the delegation from the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee donated a computer, a printer, an information retrieval machine, and a number of books to serve readers at the Hai Phu Library.
