Highlights of the cultural movement

Visiting Nong Cong today, we can sense a rural area undergoing transformation. Roads and cultural and sports facilities have been invested in and upgraded comprehensively. In particular, the cultural and sports movement has been widely launched, fostering a spirit of solidarity within the community and becoming a driving force for sustainable socio -economic development in the locality.

This change is the result of the persistent, creative, and effective implementation of the "National Unity for Building a Culturally Rich Life" movement. Based on the five contents and seven movements of the "National Unity for Building a Culturally Rich Life" movement, Nong Cong district continued to achieve positive results in 2023. Specifically, the movement to build culturally rich families and residential areas achieved relatively high results. To date, 79.2% of households in the district have been recognized as culturally rich families; 87.5% of villages, hamlets, and sub-districts have been recognized as culturally rich residential areas. The implementation of civilized lifestyles regarding weddings, funerals, and festivals has seen many positive changes. Currently, most weddings and funerals are organized in a civilized, economical manner, in accordance with traditional customs, without loud music or exceeding the permitted hours. Cultural institutions have been built synchronously from the district level to the grassroots. 100% of communes and towns have cultural and sports centers; 100% of villages have cultural houses and sports facilities.

To ensure the widespread development of the movement for building a cultured lifestyle, the district has intensified the dissemination of all its contents and activities to a wide audience through various means. This has raised awareness and encouraged action among the people regarding the implementation of the movement for building a cultured lifestyle, as well as local activities. The district has also directed the inclusion of the main targets and tasks of the movement for building a cultured lifestyle into resolutions and linked them to the activities of local areas and units.

A highlight in the implementation of the movement for building a cultured life in Nong Cong district is the effective mobilization and implementation of the movement to build cultured families, residential areas, communes, wards, towns, agencies, and units. Annually, the Steering Committee for the movement to build a cultured life in Nong Cong district advises the District Party Committee, the District People's Committee, and the District People's Council on the development of programs and plans related to the movement's contents. At the same time, the implementation of the movement to build a cultured life is linked to the New Rural Development program, with a focus on improving the quality of cultural content and criteria in New Rural Development.

In localities, the registration, evaluation, and recommendation for recognition of culturally exemplary families are carried out openly, democratically, and in accordance with regulations, resulting in an increase in both the number and quality of culturally exemplary families. Thanks to this, the movement has spread widely to every residential area and household, creating a vibrant wave of competition, contributing to preserving the cultural values ​​of Vietnamese families and building a cultural environment.

Furthermore, the Steering Committee for the Movement to Build a Culturally Advanced and Civilized Society in Nong Cong District has advised the District People's Committee to effectively implement the development and revision of village and neighborhood regulations and customs to suit the overall development situation and the specific circumstances of each locality. The content of these regulations closely reflects the actual situation, clearly defining issues such as security and order, environmental sanitation, weddings and funerals, poverty alleviation, forest protection and development, and the eradication of outdated customs. These regulations have become common codes of conduct for individuals in the community, thereby correcting many inappropriate behaviors and encouraging people to adopt civilized conduct. The effective implementation of these regulations has boosted the development of the movement to build culturally advanced families and residential areas.

Along with focusing on the movement to build culturally exemplary families, Nong Cong district has paid attention to and created favorable conditions for organizing sports and cultural events to promote vibrant cultural and sports activities. These cultural and sports exchange programs are not only organized at the district level but are also regularly held in communes, towns, agencies, and units, creating a healthy playground, strengthening solidarity, love, and closeness, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural traditions of the homeland. In particular, the district and communes and towns have focused on allocating land and promoting social mobilization to build cultural and sports facilities to meet the needs of the people.

To further develop and expand the movement, Nong Cong district will continue to build upon its achievements and innovative approaches. This includes focusing on improving the quality of cultural activities and movements; and mobilizing all resources to improve, manage, and utilize cultural and sports facilities in the district.
