
The forum's theme is "The Content Industry and Copyright Protection in the Digital Age and Artificial Intelligence (AI)".
The Forum was attended by representatives from state management agencies, copyright protection organizations, experts, and businesses in the content industry sector of both countries.
The forum is being held against the backdrop of rapidly developing digital technology and artificial intelligence, which are profoundly impacting the creation, exploitation, and distribution of content. In this era, copyright is not only a legal tool but also a crucial foundation of the creative economy , requiring countries to have effective, transparent, and technologically advanced protection mechanisms.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Tran Hoang, Director of the Copyright Department, said that in the new era, copyright is no longer just a legal tool, but has become an essential infrastructure of the creative economy.
When content can be created, copied, and disseminated at near-instantaneous speeds, the value of copyright and related rights needs to be protected effectively, transparently, and in a way that adapts to technology.
The Director of the Copyright Office also stated that Vietnam has proactively improved its legal system to meet this requirement, with the foundation being the Vietnamese Intellectual Property Law, along with guiding documents for its implementation, especially Government Decree 134/2026/ND-CP dated April 6, 2026, amending and supplementing Decree 17/2023/ND-CP. These regulations initially address emerging issues in the AI era.

At the Forum, delegates exchanged and discussed issues related to copyright protection. Ms. Pham Thi Kim Oanh, Deputy Director of the Copyright Department, updated the situation regarding the development and improvement of laws on copyright and related rights in Vietnam, highlighting new and different points added to the legal system related to copyright protection…
Mr. Chung Seong Pil, Head of the Information Technology Department of the Korea Copyright Protection Agency, shared information about the application of technology, especially artificial intelligence, in monitoring, protecting copyright, and preventing infringement in Korea, highlighting the most modern technical and technological systems to support copyright protection.
Mr. Choi Seung Hoon, Head of Policy at the Korea Game Industry Association; the current state and economic value of the video game industry in Korea; solutions for Korea-Vietnam cooperation revolving around game IP: Overcoming copyright protection, aiming for sustainable partnerships; as well as solutions to strengthen copyright enforcement in the digital environment.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Cuong, Deputy Director of VTC Technology and Digital Content Company, shared his insights on the Vietnamese gaming industry: From copyright challenges to sustainable economic value, as well as solutions and recommendations for protecting copyright in the Vietnamese gaming industry.
The forum is a concrete implementation of cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea in the field of copyright and related rights, contributing to strengthening policy exchanges, sharing management experiences, improving enforcement capacity, and promoting content market connectivity between the two countries. Through this, it aims to build a healthy, fair, and sustainable creative environment in the context of digital transformation and artificial intelligence development.
