Live-fire combat exercise

On June 10th, continuing the content of the Son La Provincial Defense Zone exercise in 2026, the Exercise Steering Committee organized a live-fire combat exercise.

Attending the exercise were: Major General Tran Van Bac, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Commander of Military Region 2, Head of the Military Region 2 Exercise Steering Committee; Hoang Van Nghiem, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the Provincial Defense Zone Exercise Steering Committee; members of the Steering Committee and the Military Region 2 Exercise Steering Committee; members of the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee; the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the Son La Provincial Defense Zone Exercise 2026; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and organizations; and agencies and units under the exercise framework.

At the training ground, delegates were given an overview of the combat firing plan, including the general situation, positional arrangements, firing practice phases, coordination, command, and combat organization. The exercise frameworks strictly adhered to the procedures and principles for handling situations; organized forces tightly, coordinated smoothly between units; and assigned and directed command to ensure unity in each phase of the operation.

The live-fire tactical exercises were well-organized; the officers and soldiers possessed good technical and tactical skills; they were thoroughly trained and practiced the plans and skills for using the weapons and equipment in their inventory, applying them flexibly in combat missions, demonstrating close coordination and cooperation between local troops, border guards, and militia forces in defensive operations.

The live-fire combat exercise was conducted with absolute safety for personnel, weapons, and equipment. This further affirms the quality of comprehensive, focused, and targeted training; closely adhering to mission requirements and combat realities, thereby enhancing the combat readiness of the provincial armed forces in all situations.
