Detective Kien - Quoc Huy has been playing Detective Kien since the film The Last Wife . This role, which resonated with him, was one of the reasons director Victor Vu continued writing the script for the detective. However, Quoc Huy was no exception when casting for this film; he also had to audition multiple times.

At the film's premiere in Hanoi on April 25th, Quoc Huy stated: "I wasn't surprised when I heard that Victor Vu was re-casting the role of detective Kien. I know he's a very meticulous and detail-oriented person. That's clearly evident in his films, from the camera angles and costumes to the way the sets are arranged."
Detective Kien's casting is meticulous.
According to Quoc Huy: "It's been two years since filming 'The Last Wife,' and there's no guarantee I can maintain the same level of performance or charisma as I did in the previous film. Re-casting from my perspective was necessary because the character of Detective Kien is now the main character. This requires the actor to have more emotion and acting skills. I really had to retrain, starting over like a blank page. Luckily, Victor still found this character in me."
After numerous casting calls, Quoc Huy said he was speechless with emotion when he received the news that he had been chosen to play Detective Kien. The first person he shared the good news with was his wife.

Meanwhile, actress and producer Dinh Ngoc Diep also shared that she still has to do casting as usual. Besides that, as a producer, Dinh Ngoc Diep is also worried about the financial success of the project "Detective Kien: The Headless Case": "I'm also worried about my age, and Huy's age, whether we can attract audiences to the theaters." The interaction between Detective Kien and Dinh Ngoc Diep's character is very good, and audiences even hope for a sequel with a stronger connection between the two characters.
Director Victor Vũ also shared details about the casting for the character Nga. Minh Anh, a "raw gem" who is only 17 years old, has a significant role in the storyline of Detective Kien: The Headless Case . Minh Anh volunteered to participate in the casting herself.
Victor Vũ recalled: "Minh Anh really surprised me. She's so young. The character Nga requires a lot of emotion. When she performed a scene during the casting, I could clearly see her confidence and complete immersion in the role. She wasn't affected by the people watching her. She acted very naturally, especially compared to others her age. After a total of four rounds of casting, Minh Anh was the perfect choice for this role."

After several casting attempts, Quoc Anh and Anh Pham became actors in Victor Vu's film.

Meanwhile, actress Anh Pham quietly auditioned for the role of Tuyet in Detective Kien: The Headless Case without telling her husband. The actress, born in 1999, was impressed with the role from the start, so she dedicated a lot of effort to preparing everything necessary to meet the requirements.
Actor Quoc Anh also shared about his casting journey for Detective Kien : "Actually, three years ago, I went to audition for Victor's film. Victor and Diep are two people I greatly admire. The role of Thac is a character who is roughly the same age as me in real life, so I decided to audition. I can only say thank you to Victor..."
