The conference was attended by about 80 domestic and foreign organizations with more than 400 delegates who are scientific researchers and application developers of renewable energy from science and technology (S&T) organizations, education and training organizations, management staff from relevant ministries, branches, agencies and localities nationwide, postgraduates and university students.
Dr. Tran Chi Thanh, Director of Vietnam Institute of Atomic Energy, spoke at the Conference.
At the Conference, Dr. Tran Chi Thanh, Director of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute, said that in the past two years, the Institute has achieved many outstanding results in research and application of nuclear technology. In 2024 alone, the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute had more than 300 international publications, successfully implementing many projects in the fields of nuclear physics, radioactive pharmaceuticals and reactor safety. The Institute is cooperating with Rosatom Corporation (Russian Federation) to implement the Nuclear Science and Technology Center (CNST) Project in Dong Nai . This project is considered a strategic infrastructure, serving research, training and technical support for the national nuclear power program. CNST will be an important foundation for Vietnam to move closer to the goal of mastering technology and participating in the global value chain in the field of nuclear energy.
Through serious criticism from the Scientific Councils, the VINANST-16 Conference selected 206 reports, of which 117 were presented (Oral presentation) at the Professional Subcommittees and 89 were posted on posters.
The Conference program includes one day of reporting at the Plenary Session and 1.5 days at 7 specialized Subcommittees. The Plenary Session on October 8 focuses on advanced nuclear technologies based on an overview of the development achievements and contributions of countries with advanced nuclear technology in the world.
In addition, the reports also discussed key tasks such as the CNST Project, the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Project; Electron beam technology and the development of accelerators for irradiation... as well as the human resource development plan and solutions to improve VINATOM's technical support capacity...
