The school also aims to build 5 strong research groups and 5 key national science and technology programs in the next 5 years. Each strong research group is granted 500 million VND/year, the strong asymptotic group 300 million, the potential group 200 million. Professor Tran Diep Tuan, Chairman of the University Council, said that over the past 5 years, the university's scientific research activities have improved a lot and achieved remarkable results. Scientific publications in the field of health are currently ranked No. 1, and ranked 5th in the entire university system.

However, he said that the school's potential is still very large, but due to limited resources, it cannot be spread out, and there needs to be a clear priority orientation, especially focusing on solving the challenges and health burdens of the Vietnamese people.

“Research will be prioritized for funding if it aims at comprehensive healthcare solutions, applies breakthrough technologies and aims at “Made in Vietnam” products,” Professor Tuan emphasized.
