A message about the responsibility of the international community.
Following the severe damage caused by Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3), many national leaders sent telegrams, letters, and messages of condolences and support to Vietnam to overcome the difficulties. This commendable action not only carries profound significance in humanitarian relief but also demonstrates international solidarity and the importance of multilateral cooperation in responding to and overcoming increasingly severe disasters, not only in Vietnam but also globally.
The cooperation between Vietnam and the international community after Typhoon No. 3 is a vivid testament to the power of global solidarity in the modern context. When countries and international organizations joined hands to support Vietnam in overcoming the difficulties caused by the natural disaster, it was not only a humanitarian act but also a profound expression of sharing and common responsibility that nations bear together. This is not simply aid, but a strong commitment to ensuring that no country faces difficulties alone.
At the same time, the assistance from countries and international organizations to Vietnam not only helps overcome the immediate consequences, but these concrete, practical, and meaningful actions also contribute to building more trust and strengthening relations between Vietnam and other countries.
In an era where global challenges such as natural disasters and climate change are becoming increasingly serious, this cooperation is fundamental to further progress, not only in disaster response but also in economic development, cultural exchange, and building a peaceful and sustainable world.
The swift and timely support from countries and international organizations following Typhoon No. 3 also sent a strong message about the shared responsibility of the international community in standing alongside countries severely affected by natural disasters. This was not just an immediate act of assistance, but an expression of solidarity, demonstrating that in a rapidly changing world, no country can stand alone in the face of natural disasters and crises. This message clearly affirms that responding to natural disasters is not only the responsibility of individual countries, but a global issue requiring cooperation, resource sharing, and expertise among nations.
More importantly, the lessons and experiences from these support actions can form a crucial basis for developing international policies on disaster prevention and response. It promotes the development of global cooperation processes to ensure that support is delivered in a timely, effective, and sustainable manner. This event also affirms the role of international organizations in promoting long-term strategies to mitigate disaster damage, thereby creating a global safety net that protects not only individual nations but the future of the entire planet.

During difficult times, when storms and floods devastate and test the resilience of the entire nation, the enthusiastic assistance from countries and international organizations sends a powerful message: that we are not alone. Timely support, from providing essential necessities to sharing valuable lessons on disaster management, not only helps Vietnam overcome challenges but also highlights the solidarity and compassion of the international community.

Lessons on strengthening solidarity
The valuable lessons learned from international cooperation in responding to Typhoon No. 3 are not only clear evidence of global solidarity but also a crucial turning point in affirming Vietnam's diplomatic standing. In times of hardship, when storms and floods devastate and test the resilience of the entire nation, the enthusiastic assistance from international organizations and friendly countries has created a powerful message: that we are not alone. Timely support, from providing essential supplies to sharing valuable lessons on disaster management, has not only helped Vietnam overcome the challenge but also highlighted the solidarity and compassion of the international community. Furthermore, Vietnam has also been and continues to share with the international community in similar situations.
With unwavering resilience, Vietnam has not only leveraged international resources but also used this opportunity to assert its position on the international stage. Support from international friends has not only created opportunities for reconstruction and recovery but has also highlighted Vietnam's ability to proactively participate in global discussions on disaster prevention and climate change. This further strengthens the trust and respect the international community has for Vietnam, while opening up new opportunities for the country to make positive contributions to building a safer and more sustainable world.
After Typhoon No. 3 and looking back at the international support during similar difficult times the country has faced in the past, we understand even more that sharing and support are also important resources that can transform challenges into opportunities, enhance solidarity, and promote sustainable development for all. This is a profound lesson about the power of cooperation and compassion in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world.
Today, Vietnam is not only a recipient of aid, but also a reliable partner, actively contributing to building a safer and more sustainable world. The spirit of solidarity and unwavering commitment from both sides will create a stronger foundation for friendly relations with other countries, fostering a hopeful future and lasting cooperation.
We also need to focus on improving our disaster risk management capabilities, from improving infrastructure to applying advanced technologies in forecasting and response. Learning from experienced countries and developing long-term strategies will help Vietnam become a model in disaster prevention and mitigation, thereby creating a positive and sustainable impact in the international community.
Furthermore, affirming the image of a united and compassionate nation through foreign affairs activities and global initiatives is crucial. Organizing international events, conferences, and exchange programs will not only foster understanding but also strengthen partnerships, creating a robust global cooperation environment.
I believe that maintaining and developing opportunities for communication and connection with international partners will help Vietnam not only strengthen its presence but also consolidate trust and support from the international community. These efforts will not only contribute to enhancing diplomatic standing but also create a solid foundation for sustainable cooperation and development in the future.
Other countries share their condolences with Vietnam regarding the damage caused by storms and floods. In response to the severe damage caused by storms and floods in Vietnam, international organizations and countries have shared and supported Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster. On September 12, South Korea pledged $2 million in humanitarian aid to help Vietnamese people rebuild areas damaged by Typhoon Yagi. Australia provided AUD 3 million for emergency relief efforts, and the first shipment of aid arrived in Hanoi. The U.S. diplomatic mission in Vietnam, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing $1 million in emergency humanitarian aid to help Vietnam recover from the extensive damage caused by Typhoon Yagi... Japan is considering providing supplies through JICA, including water purifiers and plastic sheeting. ASEAN and UNICEF have also deployed essential aid such as household supplies, clean water, and hygiene products to affected areas. Other organizations such as UN Women and European embassies are coordinating with Vietnam to identify urgent needs and appropriate support options. Through the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit, the Swiss government will allocate 1 million Swiss francs (equivalent to 1.2 million USD) for these efforts, and will also send experts and resources to the heart of the relief work. |
