According to the Hai Phong Railway Transport Branch, from May 10, 2025 to May 10, 2026, the entire Hanoi - Hai Phong route served more than 1.53 million passengers, generating revenue of approximately 161 billion VND. The Hoa Phuong Do train alone contributed nearly 1.33 million passengers, with revenue of about 155 billion VND.

On weekends, traveling to Hai Phong city by train, including the Hoa Phuong Do train, is a popular choice for many people.

After one year of operation, the Red Phoenix Flower train is gradually making its mark. While previously trains were primarily chosen for their safety and reasonable fares, now they offer passengers new experiences.

On weekends and holidays, Hai Phong train station is always bustling with visitors checking in and taking photos with the train. On social media, images of the Indochine-style VIP carriages or the modern swivel seats constantly appear in videos shared by young people.

Mr. Tran Van Hanh, Director of the Hai Phong Railway Transport Branch, said that in the first month of operation, the number of passengers increased by about 5% and remained stable throughout the past year. Many families and groups of young people prioritize traveling by train to have more time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and experience the service.

The success of the Red Phoenix train demonstrates a shift in the railway industry from a "selling transportation tickets" mindset to a "selling experiences" mindset. This is also a suitable direction in the context of the growing development of experiential tourism and short-term tourism.

To achieve the appearance of the Hoa Phuong Do train today, the railway industry has undergone many synchronized changes, from renovating carriages and upgrading services to changing the way passengers are served.

The biggest highlight is the redesign of the train's interior, modernizing it while retaining the unique character of the Hanoi-Hai Phong route. Two VIP carriages are designed in an Indochinese style with wooden floors, decorative lighting, sofas, and a mini-bar, creating the feel of a luxurious restaurant. The remaining carriages have been renovated with flexible swivel seats, power outlets, free Wi-Fi, individual reading lights, and a modern air conditioning system.

Along with changes in form, the railway industry is also focusing on improving service quality.

Another advantage that makes the Hoa Phuong Do ferry attractive to customers is its competitive ticket price. Currently, many passengers who book tickets through the app can purchase tickets for around 180,000 VND per trip. For students and young people, this is a suitable price that allows them to save money while still having a great experience.

According to the leaders of the Hai Phong Railway Transport Branch, in the coming time, the unit will continue to upgrade the quality of service, add more amenities on trains, and strengthen links with tourism and food businesses to build experiential packages associated with Hai Phong Foodtour.
