The Engineering Corps is ready to depart...

As of 9 PM on March 29th, the engineering team of Brigade 229, Engineering Corps, had completed all preparations and was ready to move to Myanmar to carry out search and rescue operations following the building collapse.

Earlier, on March 29th, after receiving orders from the Commander of the Engineering Corps , Brigade 229 deployed its agencies and units to make all necessary preparations, ready to depart for the mission.

Besides inspecting equipment and vehicles, Brigade 229 proactively reorganized its personnel, held meetings, assigned tasks, and provided ideological education and motivation to the troops. The members of the engineering team assigned to the mission actively prepared. They thoroughly studied and understood the spirit of Document No. 1706/TH-TTCĐ dated March 29, 2025, from the Propaganda Department/General Political Department regarding conducting ideological work within the organization of forces participating in humanitarian assistance and earthquake disaster relief in Myanmar.

The rescue team of Brigade 229 of the Corps has a strength of 30 members (including 6 officers and 24 professional soldiers). These are soldiers with firm political stances, excellent professional skills, and good health; some have been trained in English and have participated in rescue operations; meeting the political standards according to Circular No. 263 of the Ministry of National Defense .

The team is equipped with many modern, lightweight, and highly mobile engineering tools and equipment specifically designed for rescue operations, such as: DESA acoustic detection equipment, acoustic and visual search radar, hydraulic equipment, PO-900 handheld rubble search device, etc., along with supplies to ensure daily living needs.

At 7:30 PM on the same day, Colonel Ho Quang Tu, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Engineering Corps, and officers from the Corps' functional agencies inspected the rescue and relief team of Brigade 229 in all aspects.

Concluding the inspection, Colonel Ho Quang Tu acknowledged and commended the unit and its departments for their thorough and comprehensive preparation, and for fostering high determination among the troops.

He stated that this is a difficult and arduous task, but one with great political significance, contributing to spreading the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers internationally. Therefore, he hoped that the entire team would continue to improve their preparations, remain steadfast in their determination, maintain internal and international unity, and excellently fulfill the assigned tasks, further enhancing the "Opening the Way to Victory" banner of the Engineering Corps in the new era.
