Al Nassr wants to sign Caicedo in the summer of 2025. |
According to The Telegraph , the Saudi Arabian club sees the Ecuadorian midfielder as a dream target for the upcoming transfer window. However, Chelsea have no intention of letting Caicedo leave unless they receive an irresistible offer exceeding £100 million.
Previously, Al Nassr caused a shock by signing Jhon Duran from Aston Villa for £64 million, alongside a star-studded lineup including Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, and especially Cristiano Ronaldo.
Caicedo joined Chelsea nearly two years ago from Brighton for a massive £115 million fee. After an unconvincing start, Caicedo has become an indispensable link in the Blues' midfield, with increasingly impressive performances.
Coach Enzo Maresca was full of praise: "Currently, Caicedo is one of, if not the best, defensive midfielders in the world . Not only is he technically gifted, but he is also a wonderful person, humble, serious, and extremely polite."
Back at Al Nassr, Ronaldo's team is determined to upgrade their squad with the ambition of winning the Saudi Pro League. Two years since CR7 arrived in the Middle East, the team has yet to lift the prestigious trophy.
Currently, Al Nassr is in third place, trailing Al Hilal and Al Ittihad by 1 and 8 points respectively. Ronaldo, however, continues to perform well, scoring 23 goals and leading the league's top scorer list.
