Open up new opportunities
Vietnam’s wood and furniture industry has grown strongly in recent years, affirming its position in the international market. Binh Duong is one of the country’s major wood production and processing centers, with more than 1,200 wood industry enterprises; there are many large wood enterprises, always leading in technological innovation and creativity in design and production.
Ms. Duong Thi Tu Trinh, Director of BIFA Trading and Service Joint Stock Company, said that the company will soon cooperate with the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) - Ho Chi Minh City Branch to organize the 5th international exhibition on smart interior solutions (SFS VIETNAM 2024). At this exhibition, international exhibitors will introduce advanced solutions in the field of digital technology for interior and exterior furniture production using smart equipment, helping to increase productivity, save labor and improve product quality in the production process. "Through the exhibition, businesses will gain practical knowledge of industry 5.0 and explore automatic technologies in the production of panel furniture, solid wood furniture, wooden boards, panels and flooring... The organizing committee of SFS VIETNAM 2024 will create the best conditions for investors to meet and connect," said Ms. Duong Thi Tu Trinh.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem, Director of VCCI - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, said: “We have cooperated with the Department of Industry and Trade of 21 provinces and cities across the country and approached over 30,000 domestic enterprises and 5,000 international enterprises. SFS VIETNAM 2024 held in Binh Duong is an important event to open up many new cooperation opportunities for enterprises in the wood and furniture industry. With the goal of introducing and promoting smart furniture solutions, the exhibition not only helps enterprises access advanced technology and design but also helps expand the supply chain, promote sustainable production and export. With the desire to reflect the development trend of smart furniture in the world, the exhibition will have many booths on smart furniture. Here, visitors can witness and experience foldable, multi-functional furniture suitable for modern living spaces, or furniture that applies Internet of Things (IoT) technology and can be controlled via smartphone.
Through activities at the exhibition, VCCI will support Vietnamese enterprises to build their brands in the international market, while meeting the high standards of key export markets such as the US, the European Union, and Japan.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that the department will continue to create favorable conditions for enterprises, organizations and individuals in the wood and furniture industry to create a sustainable and creative development environment. “In the context of an increasingly changing market, grasping new trends and applying advanced technology to enhance product value is a prerequisite for enterprises to maintain and develop sustainably. Enterprises need to update the latest trends in technology, design and optimal solutions for living and working spaces, and at the same time be a place to introduce smart furniture products and solutions, and be a bridge for enterprises to learn, exchange experiences, find partners and expand the market,” Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi emphasized.
In order for the wood industry to promote its achievements and overcome new challenges, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to synchronously deploy key solutions, including solutions to promote foreign trade promotion activities, support businesses in connecting trade, expanding markets, and signing new export orders outside traditional markets.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 10 months of 2024, the export turnover of the province's wood processing industry is estimated to reach nearly 5.405 billion USD, an increase of 24.1% over the same period in 2023, accounting for 19% of the province's total export turnover. The main export markets are the US, the European Union, Japan, Canada, South Korea, and Australia.
