Technological innovation
To develop the training plan for testing the technical skills of the 7.62mm AK submachine gun, Senior Lieutenant Le Phi Giao - Assistant to the Logistics and Technical Department, Command of Defense Area 1 - Long Phu - began with the idea stemming from his practical concerns about training and testing weapons at his unit. “After researching and experimenting, I realized that incorporating 3D simulations, visual images, and a quality grading process helps officers and soldiers easily access and grasp the knowledge, improving training effectiveness,” Senior Lieutenant Le Phi Giao shared.

This initiative is not unique; within the military training group, many models and training aids demonstrate innovative thinking, creativity, and the bold application of science and technology in the training of the provincial armed forces. Notable examples include the AI-powered camera-based shooting training device of Regiment 893; the miniature AK rifle shooting exercise 2 plan of the Defense Command of Area 1 - Long Phu; and the Morse code transmission and reception training device of Communications Company 1. These products contribute to the innovation of training methods, increasing visual appeal and improving the quality of training in basic military subjects.
In the political education group, models focus on applying information technology and digital transformation in political and ideological education, such as the application of technology to political education by the Border Guard Command; online suggestion boxes; and automated multiple-choice question answering machines. This contributes to innovating the forms and methods of political education, and improving the effectiveness of propaganda and education within the unit.
The logistics and technical training group has many practical models and training aids that closely meet the requirements for ensuring training and combat readiness, such as the Hoang Cam kitchen model, the "3-in-1" logistics training model, the Hoang Cam kitchen sketching reel, and the combat-ready gun cabinet for communes, wards, and special zones. These products comply with regulations, are safe, easy to apply, and suitable for the actual conditions at the grassroots level. Major Huynh Chi Lil - Assistant to the Ordnance Department, Logistics and Technical Division, author of the "Combat-Ready Gun Cabinet for Communes, Wards, and Special Zones" initiative, shared: "What I am most proud of is that the initiative meets the requirements for safe and proper storage of weapons and equipment, is suitable for the new organizational structure at the grassroots level; it has a simple structure, is easy to use, has low costs but high efficiency."
Comprehensive training
Besides promoting models and initiatives in training, the provincial armed forces also focus on training that closely reflects actual combat situations, improving the mobility and situational response capabilities of officers and soldiers. Training content is organized rigorously according to the motto "basic, practical, and solid," combining military training with political education , discipline training, and physical fitness enhancement.
The units regularly organize training exercises on combat readiness, disaster prevention and control, and search and rescue; they train in the proficient use of weapons and equipment, infantry combat techniques, and individual and platoon-level tactics. At the same time, they strengthen physical training, field marches, and cultivate resilience, willpower, and endurance in difficult conditions. Through serious, scientific, and practical training, the organizational and command capabilities, coordination skills, and combat strength of the provincial armed forces are gradually improved, meeting the requirements of national defense in the new situation.
According to Colonel Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, building on the foundation established over the years, units continue to strictly maintain combat readiness; closely monitor the situation, promptly adjust and supplement operational plans and strategies, disaster prevention and control, and search and rescue; and prepare forces, equipment, and means well, ready to perform tasks in all situations. Training adheres to the motto "basic, practical, and solid," is comprehensive and in-depth, with a focus on practical application; implementing 3 viewpoints, 8 principles, and 6 combinations in training. In particular, training is comprehensive, under all conditions, closely aligned with the mission, target, area, environment, and operational plan; and closely integrates training with building a regular army and managing discipline.
“The combat training, drills, competitions, and sports events for 2026 set for agencies and units in the provincial armed forces are very significant. We are confident that the entire force will build upon the achievements of 2025, overcome the shortcomings, and successfully complete combat training tasks in particular, and other tasks in general,” said Colonel Nguyen Van Hien.
| In 2025, agencies and units overcame all difficulties and successfully completed combat training tasks according to the targets set by the Provincial Military Party Committee's resolution, effectively fulfilling their role as a model unit for Military Region 9. Regiment 893 was awarded the flag of "Excellent Physical Training Unit" by the General Staff. |
