In Ho Chi Minh City, many people brought plastic containers and electronic items to exchange for gifts and learn about environmental protection and combating plastic waste at the "Green Living Festival" on the morning of June 3rd.
The 3rd Ho Chi Minh City "Green Living Festival" 2023 took place from 7:00 AM on June 3rd to 5:00 PM on June 4th at Khanh Hoi Park (District 4). The program featured many activities aimed at protecting the environment, promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle, and changing habits that negatively impact the community.

The weekend festival attracted many people who came to have fun, socialize, learn new things, and access environmentally friendly services and products. Many families brought their young children to experience programs such as exchanging plastic bottles and electronic waste for gifts. After the event, the waste was transported to a recycling plant. Some areas were also designated as green playgrounds and environmental clubs, attracting many young people.
"Since I had the day off from work, I brought my two children here to have fun, helping them experience and learn more about environmental protection and not littering," said Mr. Van Luc, a resident of District 4.
This year's "Green Living Festival" features 39 businesses, organizations, and units from various sectors. Among them, 48 exhibition booths are arranged into several zones, showcasing programs and activities aimed at environmental protection, along with environmentally friendly products, technologies, services, and waste collection solutions.

According to Nguyen Toan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the city's population density is 15 times higher than the national average, putting significant pressure on urban infrastructure, including ensuring environmental sanitation and controlling pollution. Currently, reducing environmental pollution is one of Ho Chi Minh City's 13 breakthrough projects and programs. This is being focused on, with the goal of ensuring sanitation, increasing green spaces, developing green transportation, and ultimately building an environmentally friendly city that adapts to climate change.
According to Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong, the city currently has 1,920 clean, green, and environmentally friendly sites and projects, and 516 residential areas recognized as clean and beautiful. This is a collective effort of the entire city, with the hope that people and businesses will continue to protect the environment and combat pollution from plastic waste through specific and practical daily solutions and initiatives.
