On the morning of March 1st, in Co To district, the Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Standing Committee's decision on personnel matters. Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended and presented the decisions. Also present were Comrade Bui Thuy Phuong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; and Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.
At the conference, the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee announced the Provincial Party Standing Committee's decision to transfer, assign, and appoint Comrade Le Ngoc Han, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, to participate in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Co To District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, and to nominate him for election by the Co To District People's Council to the position of Chairman of the Co To District People's Committee.
Speaking to congratulate and assign tasks to the new Secretary of the Co To District Party Committee, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, affirmed that Comrade Le Ngoc Han is a capable cadre, well-trained, has held many positions, and has made significant contributions to the development of the province. The Provincial Party Secretary expressed confidence that with his proven experience and capabilities, Comrade Le Ngoc Han will continue to uphold his political acumen, abilities, and experience, working together with the District Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, and the Standing Board of the District Party Committee to lead and direct, mobilizing and leveraging the strength of the entire political system and the strength of the great national unity to successfully implement socio-economic development tasks, ensure security and defense, and further develop Co To.
The Provincial Party Secretary also requested that the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Co To District Party Committee, along with the entire political system in the district, create favorable conditions, provide support, and assist Comrade Le Ngoc Han in quickly familiarizing himself with the work and leading and directing the successful completion of all assigned tasks.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Le Ngoc Han, Secretary of the Co To District Party Committee, expressed gratitude for the attention and trust of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee in entrusting him with this new responsibility. He affirmed that this is a great honor for him, and in his new position, he will dedicate his full efforts and intellect, striving with determination to work together with the Standing Committee and the District Party Committee to create strength and successfully achieve the set tasks and objectives. He also expressed his hope that in the future he will continue to receive the attention, leadership, guidance, and support of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Executive Committee, and the leadership and staff of Co To district to complete all assigned tasks, build a stronger and more prosperous island district, continue the achievements of previous generations, and live up to the expectations of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Executive Committee, and the aspirations of the people of the island district.
On the same day, the 6th term of the Co To District People's Council held its 23rd session - a special session - to elect a new Chairman of the Co To District People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. At the session, 100% of the delegates voted to elect Comrade Le Ngoc Han, Secretary of the District Party Committee, to the position of Chairman of the Co To District People's Committee.
Earlier, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, along with the delegation, visited and offered incense and flowers in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh at the National Special Historical Site - the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area on Co To Island.
