Comrade Do Van Chien holds the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee

At the ceremony, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Hoang Dang Quang, authorized by the Politburo , announced decisions on personnel work.

The Politburo decided: Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ceases to participate in the 13th Secretariat, ceases to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, ceases to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations for the 2020-2025 term; mobilizes, assigns, and appoints to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The Politburo also decided to let comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, cease to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee.

Presenting the decision, presenting congratulatory flowers, and delivering a speech assigning tasks to the new Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, General Secretary To Lam stated: Implementing the Party's policy and preparing well for the successful organization of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Politburo has mobilized and assigned a number of Politburo and Secretariat comrades to perform tasks. In particular, the Politburo decided: Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, will cease to participate in the 13th Secretariat, cease to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, cease to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations for the 2020-2025 term; mobilize, assign, and appoint to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The General Secretary stated: Comrade Do Van Chien has a history of participating in the revolution and has matured from practical activities at the grassroots level. He has a lot of experience in mass mobilization work and, together with the Politburo and the Secretariat, has led all aspects of the Party and the country's work for a long time. In any assigned task, he has always tried his best and completed his tasks very well, especially during his time as a member of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Comrade Do Van Chien was trusted and assigned to participate in the work of the National Assembly to strengthen the Party's leadership, making the National Assembly increasingly promote its role and position in the political system.

The General Secretary hopes that in his new position, Comrade Do Van Chien will continue to unite with comrades in the Party Committee of the National Assembly, the National Assembly, and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to lead the National Assembly to fulfill its tasks, organize and implement well the Party's guidelines, policies, and decisions of the National Assembly in the coming time. Comrades in the Party Committee of the National Assembly and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will continue to maintain the tradition of solidarity and unity, create more strength, and coordinate together to successfully complete their tasks.

The General Secretary requested the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and central organizations to always stand side by side with the National Assembly and continue to coordinate so that the agencies can fulfill their tasks.

The new Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Do Van Chien, expressed his emotion and honor at being trusted and assigned a new responsibility by the Politburo; emphasizing that this is both a great honor and a new task, requiring him to constantly strive and train to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

The new Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee affirmed that he will continuously study, cultivate, practice moral qualities, innovate working methods, promote the spirit of solidarity, dedication, wholehearted service; expressed his wish to continue receiving the direction and attention of the Politburo, the Secretariat, General Secretary To Lam, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, the support and close coordination of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Ethnic Council, the National Assembly Committees and all cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers of the National Assembly agencies to successfully fulfill the assigned responsibilities.

Comrade Do Van Chien, born in 1962, hometown Tuyen Quang province (old); has a professional degree from the University of Agriculture, majoring in crop cultivation; advanced political theory level.

Comrade Do Van Chien is a member of the 13th Politburo (from May 2024); Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee; Member of the 11th, 12th, and 13th Party Central Committee. Delegate of the 13th, 14th, and 15th National Assembly.

Before being mobilized, assigned and appointed as Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, comrade Do Van Chien had a long time working in Tuyen Quang province (old), holding the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, then he was mobilized, assigned and appointed by the Politburo as Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee for the 2010 - 2015 term.

He has held the following positions: Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee; Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. From February 2025, he has been Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
