With the motto of “practice well to maneuver quickly and respond effectively”, officers and soldiers of Regiment 917 constantly improve the quality of training, organize and implement quality flight training, and ensure flight safety. Flight crews are proficiently trained in subjects and flight fields; have the ability to endure, operate and make good judgments in conditions without landmarks and rapid changes and complex developments of meteorological conditions; easily enter any landing site at sea.
To successfully complete the training content and subjects, all officers and soldiers participating in the flight practice focused on reviewing theoretical knowledge, actively practicing emergency hover flights at the airport, and coordinating training with flight crew members.
During this practice of parachute rescue at sea, the officers and soldiers of the unit were trained and improved their piloting skills, especially sea flight skills. They were able to calculate faster and more accurately the location of the person in need of rescue, wind direction, and parachute rescue techniques at sea. They knew how to rely on the capabilities of rescue equipment and the skills of parachute personnel to control the aircraft to approach the target, creating the most favorable conditions for rescuing people at sea.
