Mr. Gabor Fluit, Global CEO of De Heus Group, said that the company started investing in Vietnam in 2008 with the orientation of not only producing but also closely linking with domestic enterprises and farmers to form a closed value chain. In recent times, De Heus and Hung Nhon have implemented many effective cooperation models in the fields of breeding, animal feed and developing modern farm systems.
Currently, De Heus has been expanding its production and business in Vietnam, and expanding its network to countries in the region such as Indonesia, Korea, the Philippines and Cambodia, with two headquarters located in the Netherlands and Vietnam. At the same time, the group is implementing a large-scale poultry farming and processing project in Tay Ninh, aiming to export chicken meat to Europe, a market that imports about 800,000 tons per year. The production chain of De Heus - Hung Nhon is in the final stages of being certified by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) as a disease-free zone, paving the way for exports even when there is a local epidemic.

At the same time, De Heus focuses on developing domestic raw material areas, cooperating with cooperatives and local authorities in the Central Highlands to expand corn growing areas, with an expected purchasing output of 100,000 tons this year.
Hung Nhon said that the company and De Heus will build a closed agricultural ecosystem from breeding, feed, farming to processing, with a wastewater treatment system that meets class A standards, ensuring export conditions. The cooperation model between the two corporations is considered a sustainable direction, helping Vietnamese farmers participate more deeply in the global value chain.
At the meeting, Heineken representatives also proposed considering allowing businesses to reuse wastewater after treatment that meets type A standards.
Concluding the meeting, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang acknowledged the contributions of De Heus and Hung Nhon, and affirmed that the Ministry always accompanies businesses. “We welcome FDI enterprises like De Heus, which are serious businesses and closely associated with Vietnam. Linking with domestic enterprises brings dual benefits: both helping to improve production capacity and contributing to the overall development of the economy,” said the Minister.
According to him, Vietnam is a potential market with more than 100 million people, average income per capita of about 5,000 USD/year, economic growth rate is expected to increase by double digits from 2026, so there is huge room for businesses to invest, produce and export.

The Minister said that the agricultural sector aims to achieve an export turnover of 100 billion USD by 2030, from 62.5 billion USD in 2024 and about 70 billion USD expected in 2025. “To achieve this goal, we really need businesses like De Heus, pioneers in building sustainable value chains,” Minister Thang emphasized.
Regarding the business's proposal on wastewater reuse, the Minister directed the Ministry's specialized agencies to review and consider adjusting policies accordingly to avoid wasting resources.
Minister Tran Duc Thang also asked De Heus to increase domestic raw material purchases and support farmers through purchasing prices, seeds and farming techniques. “If domestic purchasing prices are slightly higher than imports, but help form sustainable raw material areas, that is still the right direction,” the Minister affirmed.

Minister Tran Duc Thang said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in particular and Vietnam in general always strongly support genuine businesses that contribute to the overall development of Vietnam and are responsible to society and local people. When there is the companionship of businesses and appropriate policies, farmers will stick with farming, and that is the direction for sustainable development in the future.
