During the days of prolonged heavy rain, many areas in these two localities were deeply flooded, traffic was cut off, people's lives encountered many difficulties; many households suffered damage to property, crops and livestock.
In Hoa Chau ward, more than 220 households with over 340 people had to evacuate due to deep flooding, partially isolating many areas. More than 15km of canals were damaged, 35-40ha of vegetables were completely damaged, the dyke system for aquaculture was seriously eroded. Nearly 100% of schools in the area were flooded, causing damage to facilities of about 7 billion VND.
In Phong Thai ward, the entire area has 897 households flooded; many areas are flooded over 1 meter deep, traffic is cut off. 81 households (192 people) had to be urgently evacuated to safety; a 50 meter long section of Hien Sy embankment along Bo river has collapsed, with a high risk of landslides...
At the places he visited, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Duc Tien kindly asked about the health and life of each household, deeply sympathizing with the losses caused by natural disasters. He hoped that people would unite to help each other overcome the consequences, soon stabilize their lives, and restore production; at the same time, he expressed his belief that with the joint efforts of the entire political system, the people of Hoa Chau and Phong Thai will soon overcome this difficult period.

On this occasion, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Duc Tien, on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation, presented many gifts to the affected households. This is a special, sincere and profound sentiment of the Government and People of Russia for Vietnam in general and Hue city in particular.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Duc Tien emphasized that in the context of the city still overcoming the consequences of floods, the gifts from the Government of the Russian Federation are not only material assistance but also have great spiritual significance, demonstrating international friendship and solidarity, and are a valuable source of encouragement to help people feel more confident and warm-hearted.
Touched by the gift, Ms. Hoang Thi Hanh, a resident of Hoa Chau ward, shared: “Today, I was visited by the city leaders and received meaningful gifts from international friends. I am truly touched and grateful. We clearly feel the care and sharing not only from within the country but also from friends around the world.”
In the localities visited, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also requested local authorities to continue to pay attention to and promptly support disadvantaged households, poor households, and single people, and at the same time mobilize organizations, businesses and communities to join hands to help people overcome damage, restore livelihoods, and stabilize their lives after natural disasters.
