Dr. Tram said that since August 28, the fixed voluntary blood collection point has received 414 units of blood, an average of 16 units of blood per day. The blood collection work is carried out by the Department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in coordination with the Cho Ray Blood Transfusion Center and the Provincial Red Cross. However, the number of people donating blood is still limited, not enough to meet the demand, leading to a shortage of blood and directly affecting the emergency and treatment work at the hospital.
Prolonged anemia, especially of blood types O and A, has seriously affected surgery, emergency resuscitation and treatment of chronic hematological diseases.
To ensure sufficient blood supply for emergency and treatment, Dong Nai General Hospital recommends that the Department of Health direct its affiliated units to coordinate, support, and encourage cadres, civil servants, and public employees to actively participate in regular blood donation; continue to pay attention and support in terms of communication and logistics for the fixed blood donation point at Dong Nai General Hospital, in order to contribute to stabilizing and proactively providing blood sources to treat patients.
