Vietnam's agricultural exports will reach 100 billion USD if livestock products are added

According to the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, if there are more livestock products, Vietnam will be able to achieve the target of agricultural export turnover of 100 billion USD by 2030.

On November 6, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang had a working session with leaders of De Heus Group (Netherlands), Heineken Vietnam and Hung Nhon Group.

This is also an opportunity for the parties to discuss the public-private partnership (PPP) model in developing sustainable agricultural value chains, promoting exports and improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market.

At the meeting, the corporations shared their investment and development plans for the 2025-2030 period, focusing on sustainable agricultural, processing and export value chain models, emphasizing the application of high technology and building disease-safe raw material areas.

The De Heus - Hung Nhon joint venture presented a plan to develop DHN high-tech livestock farming areas in the North, Central Highlands, and Southeast, aiming to form a closed agricultural chain from breeding, breeding, processing to export.

Minister Tran Duc Thang expressed his impression of the typical model of agricultural value chain linkage from the cooperation achievements between De Heus and Hung Nhon in recent times. This linkage is also a testament to the Vietnam - Netherlands strategic partnership.

According to the Minister, the two agricultural corporations De Heus and Hung Nhon have effectively implemented modern livestock projects, controlled diseases, built raw material areas and aimed at the Halal market, demonstrating remarkable strategic vision and implementation capacity.

Initiatives, proposals, as well as serious, long-term investment commitments of international corporations, especially De Heus in Vietnam, are recognized and highly appreciated.

Minister Tran Duc Thang hopes that corporations will make efforts to export livestock products soon. According to Mr. Thang, if there are more livestock products, Vietnam will be able to fulfill the target of reaching an agricultural export turnover of 100 billion USD by 2030.

In addition, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment also highly appreciated the presence and companionship of Heineken Vietnam, a pioneer enterprise in protecting water resources and the environment.

Programs such as “Clean water for the community” and the project to return nearly 700 million liters of water to the Tien River basin that this enterprise has implemented were emphasized by Minister Tran Duc Thang as concrete evidence of its commitment to sustainable development, contributing to spreading green economic thinking and corporate social responsibility.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will always accompany the domestic and foreign business community, creating the most favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies and procedures for projects to be implemented effectively, contributing to the goal of developing green, sustainable, low-emission agriculture in Vietnam.

Previously, on October 2, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc had a working session with these three corporations. The enterprises expressed their desire to invest in Ho Chi Minh City in the fields of high-tech agriculture, logistics, innovation and development of an international financial center.

Ho Chi Minh City leaders pledged to promote administrative procedure reform, digitize public services and develop logistics infrastructure to provide maximum support to investors.

In Tay Ninh province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut also had a working session with Royal De Heus Group and Hung Nhon Group on a series of high-tech agricultural projects for the 2025-2030 period with a total investment of more than VND10,000 billion.

The project aims to build a closed high-tech agricultural ecosystem from raw material areas, seed production, breeding, processing to export. When completed, this project chain is expected to contribute about 2 billion USD to the De Heus - Hung Nhon joint venture by 2030, making Tay Ninh a typical high-tech agricultural center of Southeast Asia.

The highlight of the investment chain is the first high-tech poultry slaughter and processing plant in Tay Ninh, with a capacity of 52 million birds/year, equivalent to 132,000 tons of products/year, a synchronous imported production line from Europe, meeting Halal, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 standards, expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
