According to the Dong Nai Provincial Police, throughout the two wars of resistance against France and the United States, and fulfilling international obligations to protect the national border, tens of thousands of people from Dong Nai province went to the battlefield, directly fighting or indirectly serving in combat across various battlefields, and thousands fell in battle, including many martyrs whose remains have not yet been found, exhumed, or identified.
Organizing the collection of DNA samples from Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and relatives of martyrs whose identities have not been determined is considered an important solution, applying scientific advancements to increase the effectiveness of identifying the remains of those who have passed away.

During this phase, the organizing units are expected to receive information and collect more than 120 DNA samples from relatives of fallen soldiers to determine the identities of 64 soldiers whose information has not yet been identified.
The sampling program is implemented in two ways. For mothers who are still in good health and able to travel, local authorities, the health sector, and the police will organize transportation to take them to the sampling site. For elderly mothers who have difficulty traveling, the task force will go to their homes to collect samples for DNA testing.
On this occasion, to express gratitude to the families of martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, the Women's Association, the Trade Union, and the Youth Union of the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order and the police of communes, wards, and towns presented gifts to the relatives of martyrs.
