Dong Trieu City has been making efforts to address the petitions submitted by voters to the City People's Council through its sessions, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring the legitimate rights and aspirations of the people.

According to a report from the City People's Committee, in 2024, a total of 9 voter petitions were raised, including those outstanding from previous sessions. The City People's Committee has developed a detailed plan, assigning clear responsibilities to each agency and department to expedite the processing. By November 2024, the city had resolved 4 petitions (44.4%) and provided information and explanations to voters regarding the remaining 5 petitions (55.6%).

The recommendations addressed included important issues such as: Maintaining the street lighting system at the Trang Bach intersection. The street lighting system has been repaired and put into operation, ensuring traffic safety for the public.

Mr. Ngo Thanh Minh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Mao Khe Ward, said: Due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi , the street lighting system invested by the Northeast Corporation in residential areas No. 10 and 11, Trang Bach area, with a length of 1.1km and 27 poles and 25 bulbs, was affected. This is an area with a very high volume of traffic, with many people working night shifts. Therefore, the power outage will affect traffic safety in the area. Following the voters' request, in early December, Unit 397 (Northeast Corporation) repaired, upgraded, and installed a completely new lighting system, handing over the lights…

Pham Van Cuong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Trang Bach area, Mao Khe ward, happily stated: "Since the streetlights were installed, people feel safer traveling in this area, and traffic safety is ensured."

Ms. Vu Thi Huyen, residing at the Dong Doc resettlement site, Trieu Khe area, Hong Phong ward, said: "I moved to this area in November 2023, but for some reasons, I didn't have electricity or water. After many requests, the first four households in the resettlement area have been connected to electricity since August 2024; and to water since July 2024. The streetlights are still on, although they are installed. I hope the government and relevant agencies will pay attention to providing electricity."

Beside   In addition, some voter recommendations were addressed in 2024, such as:   Land use right certificates were reissued for all 9 households who donated land for road construction, fulfilling the people's expectations. Addressing landslide-prone areas in Duc Chinh ward, the work of leveling embankments and lowering slopes has been completed, ensuring safety during the rainy season.

Labour   The process of resolving voter petitions in Dong Trieu City, while achieving many positive results, still faces difficulties such as: Some petitions have not been completely resolved due to issues related to resources and policy mechanisms. Basic investment projects require significant time and funding, necessitating thorough preparation to avoid waste.

To address this, the City People's Committee has committed to continuing to monitor and urge relevant agencies to resolve outstanding issues completely. In the coming period, the city will focus on tasks such as: ensuring the progress of transportation projects, improving the quality of clean water, and enhancing traffic safety at high-risk areas. The Dong Trieu City government also pays special attention to publicly disclosing information through its electronic portal and media outlets, helping voters track the progress of resolving their requests. This not only demonstrates transparency but also encourages citizen participation in state management. With a sense of responsibility and close coordination among agencies, Dong Trieu City is gradually affirming its determination to effectively resolve voters' requests, meet the aspirations of the people, and promote sustainable development for the locality.
