Dong Trieu City has been making efforts to address the petitions submitted by voters to the City People's Council through its sessions, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring the legitimate rights and aspirations of the people.
According to a report from the City People's Committee, in 2024, a total of 9 voter petitions were raised, including those outstanding from previous sessions. The City People's Committee has developed a detailed plan, assigning clear responsibilities to each agency and department to expedite the processing. By November 2024, the city had resolved 4 petitions (44.4%) and provided information and explanations to voters regarding the remaining 5 petitions (55.6%).
The recommendations addressed included important issues such as: Maintaining the street lighting system at the Trang Bach intersection. The street lighting system has been repaired and put into operation, ensuring traffic safety for the public.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Minh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Mao Khe Ward, said: Due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi , the street lighting system invested by the Northeast Corporation in residential areas No. 10 and 11, Trang Bach area, with a length of 1.1km and 27 poles and 25 bulbs, was affected. This is an area with a very high volume of traffic, with many people working night shifts. Therefore, the power outage will affect traffic safety in the area. After many requests, the first four households in the resettlement area have been connected to electricity since August 2024; and to water since July 2024. The streetlights are still on, although they are installed. I hope the government and relevant agencies will pay attention to providing electricity."
