'Doraemon' beats 'Mission: Impossible 8'

According to statistics from the independent box office monitoring site Box Office Vietnam , the latest film of Doraemon: Nobita and the Adventure into the World of Painting sold more than 350 thousand tickets with 8,370 screenings. On the morning of June 2, the total revenue exceeded 112 billion VND, likely breaking the record of Doraemon: Nobita and the Symphony of the Earth (2024) - 147 billion VND - to become the most popular anime ever in domestic theaters.

The film had early screenings on May 17 and 18 before its release on May 23. Third place belongs to Disney's Lilo & Stitch , earning nearly 10 billion VND, a total of 19 billion VND after more than a week of showing. Following is the Vietnamese animation De Men: Adventure to the Swamp with 6.5 billion VND opening. The film is less competitive than international projects, but is still a positive number for the domestic animation industry.
