Modem studio's Dream Recorder is a bedside AI device that helps users recount their dreams and turn them into short videos . The resulting image has a grainy feel, reminiscent of the mystical world of the subconscious.
The device has seven storage slots, enough to record a week's worth of dreams, with personalization options. The highlight is the open source code, allowing the community to 3D print and assemble it themselves with common components.
The Dream Recorder design aims to bring technology into the bedroom in a silent, app-less, and notification-free way. The video is rendered in analog using a combination of Alexis Jamet's illustrations and FFmpeg software. According to the founding team, the product was inspired by scientist Mark Weiser's vision of "ambient computing" at Xerox PARC in the 1990s - technology integrated into life.
Modem believes that open-source will democratize AI, offering a different approach than big tech corporations. Dear readers, please watch more videos: Iris scanning tool to verify human identity | VTV24
