In recent years, the trend of sending children abroad for education from the secondary school level has received increasing attention from many Vietnamese families. This shows a clear shift in the educational mindset of modern parents.
At the seminar "Studying at Public Schools in Singapore from a Teenager Age," organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Overseas Vietnamese Support Center (Ho Chi Minh City Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese) in collaboration with Hanbridge Academy Singapore on May 23rd, Ms. Dinh Hoang Ha, National Director of Hanbridge Academy Singapore, stated that studying abroad is not a "miracle," but with good preparation, it can be a significant turning point that helps students mature, become more confident, and broaden their future.

Delegates shared their experiences at the seminar "Studying at Singapore's Public Schools from a Teenage Age".
Today's parents are not only concerned with their children's academic excellence, but also with fostering independence, international thinking, adaptability, and early maturity. These are precisely the qualities clearly demonstrated by the Singaporean education system. "Studying abroad in your teens isn't about racing ahead of others, but about a journey of growth at the right time for each child," Mr. Ha stated.
Ms. Truong Thi Tuyet, Deputy General Director of the Project at Y Chi Vietnam Company, said that she She is a single mother who was determined to send her child to a public university in Singapore from an early age. Currently, her daughter is studying Biopharmaceutical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
There was a time when she considered sending her child back to Vietnam so that both mother and child could have an easier time, but then she realized that growing up requires overcoming challenges. Instead of rushing to send her child back whenever difficulties arose, she chose to walk through each stage with her child, little by little. Looking back with a proud smile, the mother realizes that those difficult times were when her child matured the fastest.

The program awarded 10 scholarships to underprivileged and diligent students in Ho Chi Minh City.
On this occasion, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education Association , said that parents are not only concerned about which school their children attend, but also have questions such as: Will my child grow up to be mature and independent? Will they be able to adapt to a multicultural international environment? Will they have a stable career and the ability to integrate globally in the future?
"Many families now prioritize factors such as a safe, disciplined, and modern environment; stable quality of public education; the possibility of transferring to international universities; and the development of academic English and life skills from an early age," Mr. Tuan said.
The courage to step into a changing world.
Alongside opportunities for international learning and development, today's teenagers are also facing new pressures regarding academics, personal identity, adaptability, and mental health in the age of AI and globalization.
In this context, Singapore is becoming one of the most popular educational destinations for parents due to its outstanding advantages such as a safe living environment, top-quality education in Asia, close geographical proximity to Vietnam, and a modern educational philosophy focused on the holistic development of each student's abilities and individual personality.
