(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - During this year's National Day holiday on September 2nd (from August 31st to September 3rd), Quang Ngai welcomed 1.8 times more tourists and generated 1.6 times more revenue from tourism activities compared to the same period in 2023.

Innovating to better serve tourists.

Highland Suoi Chi tourist spot, located in Hanh Tin Dong commune (Nghia Hanh district), is one of the destinations that attracted a large number of tourists during the September 2nd holiday. Besides welcoming a large number of visitors from within the province, many tourists from neighboring provinces and cities such as Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Da Nang , Kon Tum, etc., also prioritized Suoi Chi for sightseeing and relaxation. On average, during the holiday, this tourist spot welcomed over 500 visitors per day.

A new experience at Highland Suoi Chi is visiting the fruit orchards, featuring 5 hectares of strawberries, over 2 hectares of red guavas, and many other fruits. Many visitors say that besides cooling off by swimming in the refreshing stream, everyone enjoys relaxing at charming little wooden tables, savoring ripe fruits and a cup of tea amidst the soothing green surroundings. In addition, visitors can also enjoy honey wine infused with wild berries and tour a bee farm using the most modern beekeeping techniques in Vietnam today.

Many families living in other localities choose to return to their hometown of Quang Ngai to celebrate Independence Day. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, from Da Nang City, said, "During this holiday, my family returned to our hometown in Nghia Lam commune (Tu Nghia district) to visit relatives and friends and enjoy the fresh air. My children also got to experience the rural scenery and agricultural activities so they could better understand life in their parents' birthplace."

Happily posing for photos with her children and grandchildren in the strawberry garden, Mrs. Tra Thi Hoi, from Tam Quan Nam ward, Hoai Nhon town (Binh Dinh province), shared, "This is the second time I've visited Suoi Chi tourist spot with my family. This time, our group consisted of 16 people. Suoi Chi not only has beautiful, peaceful, and cool scenery, but visitors can also enjoy delicious fruits. I also chose to buy some products like honey and fruit as souvenirs."

According to Nguyen Huu Hoa, Director of Highland Suoi Chi, the unit applies a model of beekeeping on stacked hives. The honey harvested is only from the honeycombs on the lower layers, and the honey obtained is fully ripe. The harvested honey is used to make sim wine, strawberry syrup, etc., to serve tourists. “We are constantly innovating and diversifying our services. The fruits at Suoi Chi are cultivated according to organic standards, ensuring year-round availability for tourists,” Mr. Hoa emphasized.

Positive signal

During the four-day holiday, many tourists chose to visit tourist attractions within the province, resulting in a significant increase in visitor numbers at tourist sites. Ly Son district, known as a paradise in the middle of the ocean, attracted a large number of tourists. According to statistics from the Provincial Port Management Board and Inland Waterway Port Authority, from August 31st to September 3rd, more than 5,000 visitors came to Ly Son. “During this holiday, I spent two days having fun in Ly Son with friends, and it was a very enjoyable experience. I had the opportunity to visit all the historical sites and scenic spots here. In particular, I had a wonderful experience on Be Island, like snorkeling to see the coral reefs,” said Ms. Phan Thi Thach from Chanh Lo ward (Quang Ngai City).

The mangrove forest of Tịnh Khê (Quảng Ngãi City) is a favorite destination for many tourists.

Every day, thousands of tourists visit My Khe beach (Quang Ngai City), Chau Tan beach (Binh Son district), and other locations to enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and savoring fresh seafood. Many families say that, in addition to visiting tourist attractions within the province, going to the beaches is their top choice for relaxing after hard days of work and recharging before returning to their daily routines.

Several tourist attractions in the province also attracted many visitors during the holiday period, such as: White Waterfall (Minh Long), Ca Cai Lake (Binh Son), Tinh Khe mangrove forest (Quang Ngai City), Binh Thanh community tourism village (Nghia Hanh), Bui Hui grassland (Ba To), Sa Huynh (Duc Pho town)...

According to Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism activities during the September 2nd holiday this year were very vibrant. Most tourist areas and attractions in the province attracted a large number of visitors. Establishments complied well with regulations on welcoming guests and ensured safety.

During the four-day National Day holiday on September 2nd, Quang Ngai welcomed approximately 93,400 visitors, a 1.8-fold increase compared to the same period in 2023. Of these, over 30,000 were overnight guests (with an occupancy rate exceeding 55%); and approximately 63,400 visited tourist attractions throughout the province. Revenue from tourism activities reached nearly 89 billion VND, 1.6 times higher than the same period last year.
